Those crop of people have finished Nigeria. They ceased power just to loot the treasury, borrow the destiny of next 50th generation via senseless loans to build over hyped projects and still borrowing.

Biafra leader achieved this feat in Biafra land without borrowing a dime and this got them roused to measure dick...

Lagos State is the most indebted state in Nigeria, building bogus ferry and bus terminals.

Shame.

The real case now is for NDLEA to quickly bring in sophisticated search/monitoring equipments nd position themselves well bcuz if them mistakenly open that airport without first establishing strong means of detection, the white powder flying out of that place will not be measured in Kg's but Tons.

Buba marwa sir, take note!

Anambla is about to become international in the true meaning of the word grin even medellin will take a back seat when Anambra entres world news.

Don't mind them, you can't see them attack their useless leaders but if na for southeast them go carry for head, it's certain Chinese will take over most of Lagos infastructures because of huge debt both from state and FG, Lakki deep sea port is being funded by China, the rail line is also China loan and so many others.

All thanks to Obiano. A foretaste/microcosm of Biafra leadership mindset.

Ndị Anambra comes first. (Patriotism)

BIAFRA comes first (Ready to sacrifice all - Patriotism.)

I believe Anambra and Kano are states economy largely built by indigenous unlike Lagos, Abuja and oil producing states check list below for you to understand there are more billionaires in Anambra than Kano, Forbes isn't means of measuring wealth, Kano is home of commerce for all 19 northern states, in South Lagos is there, Port Harcourt is there, Aba is there, still Anambra top Kano in N GDP, Anambra is least in poverty index Kano is higher in poverty index

With this airport, I see anambra's IGR double within 2 years from now, south east economy is about to turn around for good, given the heavy purchasing prowess of our billionaires and people as a whole

My problem is since asaba airport and Enugu airport are closer to all this communities listed, why then wasn't it strategically located somewhere closer to purchasing power?

I think we've hyped this airport enough, let obiano complete this project and then we can laud it as we like.

Anambra amaka!

Both Asaba and Enugu Airport are not Cargo Airport, this particular Anambra Airport has one of the longest run ways and can accommodate the biggest Aeroplanes in the world , it is an Airport for the future, Anambra will get a slice of the Air passenger and cargo business .

Thank you for this piece . no nigerian factor , collaboration , alliance can stop the emergence of a trading and business hub east of the Niger where the cost of doing business is the lowest in the country , no omonile, no Area boys no state government sponsored extortion and terrorism , no extortion by a criminal tax consultancy company , no futile threats by jealous residents , only pay your tax and do your importation

But flight can't take off from ur almighty bus station. I believe a more sophisticated terminal will be built so focus on the purpose of building the airport.

*This Ekpenu Coward has deleted the erroneous tweet capture, so, I have added a similar tweet with the same foolishness as his

The airport is located in Guangzhou's Baiyun District and Huadu District and opened on August 5, 2004 as a replacement for the 72-year-old, identically named former airport, which is now closed.

Built at a cost of 19.8 billion yuan.

Exchange rate of the Chinese Yuan to USD was 6.4 yuan to the dollar bringing the project to 3billion USD in 2004.

Exchange rate of the naira was 136naira to the USD, so that's, 4.2 Trillion Naira in 2004

Nigeria's Budget for that period was 1.5 trillion Naira.

This means the airport cost ~ 3 times the budget of the entire Nation of Nigeria to be built in 2004 and currently at a rate of 3.52 if you are extrapolating 480/136.

So, it would cost (all economic variables being ignored) 3*13trillion(~ 40 trillion Naira or 40,000,000,000,000/480=83bn USD) to be built today. That's all of Nigeria's foreign debt plus change for politicians to steal.

Taking into consideration the differences between a Cargo Airport and a Passenger Airport servicing a commercial city of 9.02 million(2004 population estimate) that has been in operation since 1934.

Class dismissed, and if you post any more of such baseless shít next time...

Do you know what is 2.2bilion USD? That is about 1/3 of Nigerian budget. Anambra airport only cost 6 billion naira (15million USD) and have be longest runway in Nigeria.

Anambra international cargo/domestic airport wasn't built with 2.2 billion dollars, it was financed only by the state government.

The investors didn't continue after showing interest but the state governor Obiano decide to do it alone, read his statement during the parliament oversight on Anambra international cargo/domestic airport and clear your thought

So for your baby brain you believe Anambra budgeted $2 billion for the Airport

That's about a trillion naira, no state would spend more than 20bil for such a project and Anambra doesn't have such fund at the moment.

With multiple access roads being constructed, I believe that no true onye Anambra will prefer airports in surrounding states to Anambra Airport unless the quality of airport services is poor.

We should be sincere, if the traffic at osha bridge get solved, people 'll still prefer Asaba to Anambra Airport due to location... besides That, the architectural design is too poor.. Anambra deserves a magnificent structure to beat the surrounding existing airports

That was the initial Chinese loan deal. The Chinese bowed out and the government did the construction on their own. that airport plus corruption won't cost up to 80-100 million dollars. Considering the speed of the work, I doubt if much embezzlement took place if at all. You people should be using your brain oh.
