Good morning.

In terms of how it works, it's an Inverter that inverts Direct Current to Alternating Current. Although for this particular Inverter, it gives out both AC and DC. It works with Inverter Batteries. This Inverter can be grid tied or off grid too depending on your decision.

For the 12V/850 Inverter, it can be installed with just a 12V Inverter Battery alongside 2 units of 12V Solar Panels connected parallelly for charging the Batteries. And can be connected with a Changeover switch in a situation where it is grid tied for charging of the Batteries.
While for the 24V/1.5KVA it requires a minimum of 2units of 12V batteries connected in series to power up the Inverter. It can accommodate 24V Solar Panels for charging of your Batteries. And connected with a Changeover like the other.
It does not require a charge controller as it has inbuilt charge controller.

For the 850VA it can accommodate total loads that sums up to like 750VA for a decent usage. E.g A unit of TV, your lighting points, your fan and charge your gadgets.
While the 1.5KVA can accommodate loads up to 1.3KVA for a decent long lasting performance. E.g like 2 units of TV, your lighting points, more than one fan, charge your gadgets, etc as the case may be.
