Accelerationism takes Marx's "machine fragment" as its theoretical source. The so-called "machine fragment" appears in the "Outline of the Critique of Political Economy". Marx writes: "The development of fixed capital shows to what extent general social knowledge has been transformed into direct productive forces, and thus to what extent the conditions of the social process of life are themselves controlled by and transformed in accordance with the general intellect."
