The resolution of Southern governors to ban open grazing needs to be legalised across all 17 states. The respectove state assemblies need to move swiftly and enact laws banning open grazing. It does not need too much rhetorics. Benue has a subsusting law that the states can modify to suit its respective need.
There is need to have these laws enforced. It is rather appalling that in former Bendel State roaming domestic animals was banned over 40 years ago, yet Fulanis were being allowed to roam the streets and town with their cows and littering everywhere with cow dungs. Now, they have been enboldened to even kill the locals and destroy their farms. Never again!
Secondly, all southern states need to create vigilantes or security outfits to enforce the ban. Any cow found roaming the streets or bushes should br confiscated and auctioned to butchers. The small ones can be sold to those who own ranches. The south should show courage and stop these marauding bandits from destroying our homeland. Any herder found roaming with cows should be sentenced to 5 years jsil term.
Additionally, any child of school age seem rearing cattle should be arrested and their guardian jailed for depriving such children of formal education. South chose educatiin over illitracy and archaic lifestyle. Our forests must be cleared of all bandits in whatever guise.
