Unknown gunmen suspected to be kidnappers have abducted a hotel owner, Desmond Omamofe, in Sapele Local Government Area of Delta State.

It was gathered that the incident occurred about 8 pm Sunday, at the hotel’s premises along Omiemiedi Road in the timber town.

According to reports, an unidentified man was shot while trying to prevent the abductors from whisking the hotelier away.

They (kidnappers) were reported to have made away with their target in a vehicle, while the gunshot victim was later rushed to a hospital.

Reports claim that the victim was in one of the hotel’s rooms upstairs when the gunmen broke in shooting sporadically.

When contacted, the acting Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), promised to get back to this reporter.

He was yet to do so as of the time of filing this report.
