Do we have lawyers around, can't they start mass legal action?
Re: Nigerians Slam NCC’s IMEI, Phone IDs Directive: We Deserve Some Privacy by Chief101(m): 2:07pm On May 21, 2021
In the United States of America, your phone IMEI is registered when you are either buying a new line or switching phones.

It does not matter whether the phone is locked or not.
This makes tracking people more efficient.

How IMEI stop crime?

In 2015, this govt said BVN will stop 419, corruption and kidnapping. Can u pls give an update on that?

This year, they said it is NIN that will stop crime. Pls how's that supposed to go?

If you don't know things you should ask.

When BVN was introduced. The CBN after a year or two mopped up over N20BN in equivalent from different accounts that some of the owners abandoned because they can't afford to let it be tied to BVN.

The coming of BVN has provided jobs and offered a multiplier effect. How do you think Online loan companies are able to operate if citizens don't have BVN?

Some of the plenty Yahoo boys that have been nabbed and even certain govt officials like Mama Peace and Diezani were only caught because of the BVN...

Where have you been in this country since?

They know where bandits, kidnappers and terrorist are but couldn't mobilize military and security agents against them rather, they asking the citizens to give out their IMEI so they can supply their boys in the bush.
You know the rest. Your guess is good as mine......

NIN and Imei submittion is all geared towards controlling the social media space. It's a race against time to gag the social media in anticipation for the cat fight in the coming elections.

IMEI is specific to every device. If you change your phone, your IMEI changes. So if you can, give them the IMEI of a cheap 2K device, then change your SIM card to another device. Matter solved.

Lol , the us is protecting their interests from China but has internal databases for planning and tracking.

You need the citizens info for planning/security.
Eg.
Ni , public services card, nhs etc.

Nigerians are not ready for true development at all.

What privacy does your IMEI give away?

Silly us. These are people that want to go and stay in London. Where all your movement is captured and recorded on a CCTV, the length and breath of the city.

Same clowns who praise America and Canada where you cannot do anything tangible and legit with your life without submitting a Social Security number or a social insurance number.

Pls, what privacy does your IMEI reveal other than your location. And is that not what is obtainable in the West, with your social media accounts?

Just be complaining like deranged donkeys up and down.

[/quo

what does CCTV cameras, SSN and SIN have to do with IMEI!!?? Those things cannot show the government your real time location. Well I don't blame you sha, your brain is probably made up of the same substance as malami..... Nothing.
