NazareneMonk: Seems he needs urgent quick fix to avoid snyper temptation. Transportation business is a fast way to crawl out and he can make time to learn or rebuild and grow whatever other enterprise he chooses in future. If he can drive/ride taxi, shuttle bus, e-hailing can, Okada or drive for bread, table water companies on commission basis. OR IS HE STILL DOING GRADUATE GRA GRA at this point of death? |

Nigerians are the ones killing Nigerians not government. just because you are placed in some sort of cubicle for an office under government you turn yourself to a demi god. you see a man that can't conveniently feed himself from his business you forward to him a tax not feasible in commensuration to his business yet tell him to pay or close up, forgetting if every other business like his close government won't get tax from nowhere. 6 Likes 1 Share |

Consumer tax is what is known as VAT, And businesses with an annual turnover less than 25million is clearly exempted from that rubbish. Educate yourself very well young man so that people wouldn't cash out on your ignorance. Any small thing Nigerians don dey beg and acting naive , Na wa! 10 Likes 3 Shares |

[quote author=NazareneMonk post=101926991] They said its consumer tax, 5% of his sales that's an average of about 30k monthly during that lockdown period. My guy nor even dey make that much sales Monthly not to talk of having that as 5%. Mind you, that's not the only group that has come to tax him on consumption. Another group came two weeks ago saying they are in charge of tax on beer and spirit (This group have visited twice and he had to beg them with tokens.) I dey feel for the guy sha, I will do my best and make this go viral. This is oppression, police even come join dey shine eyes for am.[/quote HE MAY NOT BE IN A POSITION TO AFFORD IT BUT THE BEST ADVICE FOR HIM IS TO HIRE A GOOD LAWYER TO HANDLE IT AS MOST OF THESE FEES AND LEVIES TEND TO BE ILLEGAL. 1 Like |

He should first find another place to rent, then evacuate the shot and move on to his new residence. Then after a while, he can open another shop |
Re: Please Help Before My Friend by khadaffi(m): 10:09pm On May 21, 2021 |
cybertron88: It's very unfortunate. When you start a business in this country the government agencies treat you as if you've committed a crime. When I opened my school it was also like that, different agencies coming with different levies. I had to pull down my banner and all advert of the school in order to operate with peace of mind. 1 Like |

Re: Please Help Before My Friend by jaxxy(m): 10:20pm On May 21, 2021 |
NazareneMonk: It’s either Lagos state government is mad or ur frnd is just being extorted because he’s seen to be new and naive. What sales did he make that they are taxing even during the lockdown when government is supposed to cushion the effects of the pandemic for atleast the the next 6 months after the lockdown was lifted. Sadly in the country we have draconian laws set up by a highly irresponsible government and citizens who don’t even know their rights. He should get a tax lawyer. |
Re: Please Help Before My Friend by Nobody: 10:21pm On May 21, 2021 |
