It was a Freudian slip.
Though it was an error but was what he really had in him.

I am not fulani. I am not muslim. But I have worked with them. The average northerner is naturally intelligent, but the average fulani is close to genius. Don't use this English language thing as a determinant o.

If you claim that the average northerner is naturally intelligent, then what brought about the quota system where northerners gain admission into the university with jamb scores of less than 50 compared to the south where the same jamb exam cut-off point for admission is pegged at 200. The average northerner is naturally dull. Their low IQ won't let them comprehend anything no matter how hard you try to teach them. But you can give it up to them when it comes to religion, politics and violence.

how low can you go? How low can an abokì go? You compare Emma powerful with a senate approved minister of defence in a large country like Nigeria?

Can you see how you guys from north have brought incompetence to public service?
........
If Emma Powerful did gaffed; accept it and remove linen of ethnicism, just to swipe at another man from another place.
Acceptably, the Minister of Defense's own, remain unpardonable too. His, was a national broadcast while Emma's own, centrically to mostly Igbo illiterates too. Anyone can gaffe due to the slip-of-tongue.

Is the minister a robbot that he can't dictate and correct the mistake before coming to the public to disgrace his generation?

Don't get why some people are defending this.

100% of educated illiterates are in the North and some of them are occupying prominent positions. You don't need to ask yourself why our economy is on retrogression.

Even though he's reading from an already prepared speech

Possibly the speech writer made the mistake! However, he should have spotted and corrected it as he made the speech!

This only means these guys couldn't even be arsed to proof-read their speeches before going to the public. It's mainly down to laziness and a unserious, contemptable approach to academics and literacy, steming from a firm belief all the need to make it in Nigeria is to be a muslim from the core north...preferably, Fulani!

And as if that's not bad enough, they INSIST on running all critical sectors at the centre...not based on a desire for selfless public service, but out of sheer greed, lust for power, covetousness and a desire to subjugate others!

And our defense minister should go back to where?
A retired quota system General reading from a written speech full of blunders you didn't ask him to resign and go back to school.
Even Buhari another quota system retired General needs to go back to primary school but you don't care.
And that Supreme Court Aeroplane driving clown should go back to his cows.

Well said

One of the biggest clogs to our national progress is that regressive quota system

Funflipper:

It is definitely a product of quota system.

Why those knuckleheaded mallams are the ones suitable for those strategic positions in a democrazy system is what I don't understand. It's as if there are no standard criteria for appointing people to strategic positions that could make or break the tribally diverse country.
