Before the ousting of President Goodluck Jonathan, most of us were chanting "change" but the current state of insecurity in the country has drastically increased compared to the previous government. Although we can not dispute the fact that in the previous administration, there was also insecurity, lack of basic infrastructure, poor health facility, high unemployment, etc but this can not be compared with the current state of the country. Some experts think if drastic action is not put forward, Nigeria might turn into a state of anarchy soon. Within the past six months, approximately 2,000 students have been abducted across the country without involving the figures of recorded casualties. Despite this fact, the President has remained mute about the escalating menace as his subordinates are also out of ideas on how best to navigate the country. I was listening to a radio program this morning and the guest makes a statement that I concur with. He said “no right-thinking Nigerian would be happy the country is not improving, we are recognized as the most popular black nation on the planet and have bright individuals across the world. There should be no big deal in inviting Nigerian experts across their field to come home and help develop their motherland instead of playing politics with peoples’ lives while blaming it on one ethnic group or another”. Over the weekend, there was a report that some earlier abducted school girls regained their freedom. An interview with some of the parents of these traumatized young adults confirms that ransom close to the sum of one hundred million was paid to these kidnappers as some added that they also bought motorcycles for them so their children could be released. This is not the first time this kind of scenario will be happening as miscreant now dares to operate with the assurance that the federal government will do little or nothing. Political pundits on several occasions have expressed that situations like this have proven that Nigerians security apparatus is outdated and there is an urgent need for an overhaul of the whole government system. Few hours after the release of more than 100 abducted girls there was a report that another 150 students were kidnapped in Niger state as there are unconfirmed rumors that the state governor Mallam Abubakar Sani Bello is currently not in his state. The country's Federal Capital Territory(FCT) is very close to this place of incident and this is not the first time banditry, kidnapping or any outlaw activities will be happening in that region. The current state of insecurity in the country has prompt this question was Nigeria as worse as this when President Jonathan was in government? source:- https://www.operanewsapp.com/ng/en/share/detail?news_id=800e3608e31456e09765f4d096e75d49&news_entry_id=s5aabb1bd210531en_ng&open_type=tanscoded&request_id=aaeed7226cc7d440f8caefa0c0cb93684ea15900&from=publisher |

Watch as those terrorist sympathisers come and turn this into IPOB bashing threat. I can see them viewing the thread but they are sitting down crafting their devilsh response which is to turn it into ethnic bashing rather than responding to the valid points raised by the op. |
