What of the rest? We have read that all of them were arrested after the unknown gunmen had gone. The unknown gunmen we watched on videos wore black upon black. We have heard that those of them arrested as unknown gunmen have their shops in Owerri and they picked some of them right in their shops.

We had also read where security agents arrested many people in the restaurants where they were eating. There is a martial law going on in the East right now. The security agents are killing my people unjustly and hanging guns on them. Every youth in the East is seen as unknown gunmen. Let us do the right thing and give peace a chance.

Those that trust in their heavy artilleries, warships and warplanes to push for war should know that battle belongs to God.

He needs to sue the Nigerian Police for every cent they are worth for the embarrassment, psychological trauma, damage to his reputation, and for being the idiots that they are.

If these are still the Nigeria Police, as we know them, then then all those suspects could be innocent.

Police Release Oil Worker Wrongly Arrested And Paraded As An Unknown Gunman (Photos)

A 40-year-old oil worker identified as Casmir Ibegbulem, has been released by the police after wrongly arrested and paraded as one of the unknown gunmen attacking security formations in Imo state, IgbereTV reports.

Casmir Ibegbulem who is a father of one and expectant father of another is a “Permit Holder” staff member of an oil company in Bonny Island, Bayelsa State and a native of Ogwa Community in Mbaitoli, Imo State.

According to reports, he returned home for the burial of his in-law which took place on May 28, but was arrested in Owerri when he came to pick up some personal items needed for the burial.

Nancy AmaraGod, a native of Ogwa community who confirmed that Ibegbulam has been released, wrote on Facebook;

What happens to the rest in that picture

Dem fit be carpenter, vulcaniser.... So no body will speak for them.... so they are guilty, and might stay in awaiting trial for the next 3 years, an their case file will be missing, after 7 years, then they will show them in NTA by one NGO after 15 years. The only guilty people in this country are the poor

Now, this is because someone took it upon herself to raise awareness about him, who will shout for the many other innocents who have been nabbed and labelled "gun men" without any weapons? Who? sad

Many of those that have been extrajudicially murdered in the Southeast as ESN/IPOB operatives by the police are innocents that have no wealthy family, friends or colleagues to speak for them.

The real culprits would have been hours long gone by the time they begin the round up of innocent road users.

This dude's case could have easily ended tragically if his family & friends did not part with a very sizable amount to buy back his life from this our insecure security men.

This is one reason why you hardly have sympathy for the police when they are being killed or harmed. They have caused more damage to the society than good. Harassment, intimidation, false accusations, arrests of innocent citizens, unlawful killings, and many more are their atrocities.

May God fight for all that have been falsely accused and arrested by our "unknown policemen" Amen

THE VICTIM OF POLICE ARREST who is an oil worker SHOULD TAKE LEGAL ACTION AGAINST THE POLICE FOR UNLAWFUL ARREST based on wrong identity.

The Nigeria government will pay huge compensation for the wrong act.

I hope everyone who commented on the arrest of this young man the and protest that followed can go back and view their posts as a mirror to their souls and inquire of themselves whether they are indeed worthy to be called citizens of a nation that hopes to dig itself out of its numerous challenges.

Such a pity.

Casmir should sue the police for unlawful detention, trespass to person, and gross violation of his fundamental rights as enshrined in the Nigerian constitution. This shouldn't be swept under the carpet, if not more people will suffer it. Claim damages in millions of naira pls
