Me, I have been a self-taught developer from day one learning everything right in my room. I will advise you to use that money to purchase some online courses. You can start with Harvard University cs50 courses which are fully online and free, that will give you a solid foundation in programming. If you have more money you can also do a nano degree course at udacity.com. or buy udemy courses which I can give you coupon code to get 90% off. edx.org is also a very good platform to learn programming but is cost. All courses come with real-world practical examples from top tech companies expert like IBM, Microsoft, Google, etc.

At times trying to self learn coding may be hard if there is no mentor to guide you. Currently, I am learning DevOps at Fellowship at The Bulb Africa (https://www.fellowship.thebulb.africa/). It was a friend in Lagos that actually introduced me to The Bulb. You don't need to pay until you're done with your training until you get a job as a software engineer. They even gave me a laptop. lol
