1963 constitution will be too old to address the challenges of the present days we either amend 1999 constitution 99.9% now and move forward or continue to serve Fulani hegemony.
same as 1999 Constitution..... Both too old, new one is needed.

with the region al government. One person premier was powerful, just see what awolowo and akintola turned south west to with fight for supremacy

The 1963 did not give absolute powers to the premier as you would have your readers believe. Despite being premier of the Western Region, Akintola's impeachment process was already going on smoothly and wouldn't have given birth to any supremacy tussle if Balewa had, as prime minister, exercised the lawful restraint not to dabble into the process for political capital. In essence what led to the First Republic crisis was not the constitution itself but Balewa's arrogation to himself the powers which that constitution didn't confer on him

Of course they will rather hold on to the present constitution that is designed to render 80% Nigerians into abject poverty.

That’s how Nigeria system is designed through this present constitution to constantly put 80% Nigerians in abject poverty, no improvement.

So the politicians(oppressors) can continue to have their way.

Things like this make me believe that Nigerians are destine to suffering and smiling lifestyle.

Oppressors don’t want the oppressed to be free

What part of the constitution pushes people into poverty.

Some people have no idea of the provisions of the 1963 constitution, the consequences. The amendment of those provisions that are not in tandem with the present realities is preferable

He's right. Reviewing and amending the 1999 constitution is the right path and quicker.

A lot has changed since the 1963 constitution was created. It would be like starting afresh, which would take a long time.
