Maybe you need to be reminded that resources from those areas were used to get Lagos to the level it is today. Maybe you forgot that Lagos was once the administrative capital and resources were required from the Igbos, Abokis and the Niger Delta to develop infrastructure in Lagos. Now you can see that Lagos has become home for all.

What do you expect when Abokkiiis and Ibos are practically everywhere leaving their under developed region

Remove that unfortunate misnomer, no sensible person will pick Lagos ahead of Maiduguri, Kano, Minna, Kaduna, Jos, etc...

I have lived and worked in almost all major Nigerian Cities including Lagos, so I know what I speak of.

No normal human being should live and raise families in that metropolitan madhouse. Fact!!!

How the rating is calculated

The liveability score is reached through category weights, which are divided equally into relevant subcategories to ensure that the score covers as many indicators as possible.

Indicators are scored as acceptable, tolerable, uncomfortable, undesirable or intolerable. These are then weighted to produce a rating, where 100 indicates that liveability in a city is ideal and 1 means that it is intolerable.

For qualitative variables, an “EIU rating” is awarded based on the judgment of in-house expert geography analysts and a field correspondent based in each city. For quantitative variables, a rating is calculated based on the relative performance of a location using external data.

CATEGORY 1: Stability (25% of total)

Indicator

Prevalence of petty crime
Prevalence of violent crime
Threat of terror
Threat of military conflict
Threat of civil unrest/conflict

CATEGORY 2: Healthcare (20% of total)

Quality of private healthcare
Availability of public healthcare

Level of corruption (Adapted from Transparency International)
Social or religious restrictions
Level of censorship
Sporting availability (EIU field rating of 3 sport indicators)
Cultural availability (EIU field rating of 4 cultural indicators)
Food and drink (EIU field rating of 4 cultural indicators)
Consumer goods & services (EIU rating of product availability)

CATEGORY 4: Education (weight: 10% of total)

This is unfair and a big blow to the LASG and all the hard work.

There is really a lot we need to do as a country in whole. Lagos is suffering and less appreciated because the rest of the country is a shithole.

If all the states could keep up with lag, Nigeria will be attending a G7 summit like SA.

U can't have a mushin and ikoyi in the same city.

Lagos needs something called "regeneration", it a process where ghettos are demolished and occupants moved elsewhere.

It also needs a green plan plus travel infrastructure.

I understand how you feel but it's a hard pill to swallow, Lagos is just 'looking for the easy Way' and will never be recognized until the country as a whole is an Eldorado.

Lagos is like an island in the middle of a volcano...

When people's minds aren't developed, a city or country cannot be developed. Build one million ikoyis, it won't change anything
