Lai Mohammed needs to have his head examined. He is power drunk these days. Very soon they will say we need to license our mouths because we use it to communicate

These so called experts are beyond dolts. Do they not know they are already paying for the services of these social media Giants? Is data free?
A lot of them pay to promote their tweets or products as sponsored tweets.

Why are they talking stupidly? If Twitter can make money off the citizens of different countries despite being domiciled and registered in USA then they should be registered in the countries they are accessed in and also make money from.

This is simple common sense. You cannot be making money from Nigeria and paying taxes to USA. That is madness

Finally someone that has sense.

I thought almost everyone was a dunce in this country.

An average Nigerian relies on too much emotions instead of logic.

Media in Nigeria is dying gradually. 20% left..

They will soon come to nairaland

I told people It is a grand attack on Free speech not just Twitter. Any media the government can't control like Nta they don't want. That is how communist China is.

The question we should ask ourselves are:-

1. Is twitter and co. making money from Nigerians?
2. Is twitter and co. paying tax in other countries?
3. Does the Nigerian law(s) have a say in such regulation and taxation?

If the answers to the above questions are in the affirmative then crucify not the Nigerian government. Is high time we reason above emotion and sentiment. We can just condemn every act of the government.

Voting for Buhari the first tenure I may not fault it because you may need to try people to know what they can do but voting Buhari for a second time is a disaster grin

The Yorubas na go see something since ona no wan recieve sns

My brother, the greatest mistake this country has made is voting Buhari the second time. It is a disaster.

Twitter is a broadcasting platform and can disseminate news fake or otherwise. Twitter as it stands can not be sued in that country because it is not registered means you can not sue twitter in Nigeria for any fake news allowing any mischief element to do so with their platform. if registered they will be guided and censure items capable of destabilising the country. Second, anything that can cause harm or destabilize the country if not properly use is subject to regulation.

Lol...

If Nigerians can travel back in time to 2015, with the knowledge and consciousness of 2021, will we still have campaigned and voted for Buhari?

I personally would've gone further back, to even before my conception. I would have a chat with God - "Baba, we need to talk. You see that Country you're about to send me to. Kole work! If you insist, I'll take my blanket and go back to sleep here "

So, if nairaland is making money from US traffic. Nairaland should also register with USA right?

How much is Seun Osewa paying for Nairaland to be accessed in the US? You expect a public trading company to have a branch in your country because your Government cannot accept criticism? Wow
