Question is why is the state government funding the federal policemen? That's the federal call. The state government should rather fund amotekun and the security of the state. The same cars you give to them would be used in killing your own people. Abiodun is so dumb!

You can imagine if this investment like many others were to be made in an outfit domicilled in the state. That is an outfit like the 'Ogun State Police Department'. And these assets are under the control of local authority, what better impact it will make.

But you give them out to people you cannot direct, you cannot make demands from, you cannot control, vett, or assess. What is stopping these equipment from finding its way to Kaura Namoda or Potiskum or Warri.

You can all see the terrible waste a poorly structured nation cultivates.
In a proper, well structured environment certain metrics will accompany any investment for accountability reasons.

The taxpayer has spent x Naira on the police, they expect y% reduction in thus or that crime, z% increase in thus or that police activity.
When investments are made by local governments in other parts you hear that it has gone to putting 100, 200, 500, 1000 more officers on the streets for example.

Here, nothing. The failed structure will just gobble up the resources and nothing meaningful will change.
If the average citizen could see the metrics from local government investment and appreciate the changing, improving statistics of crime then he will be encouraged to pay more by way of taxation for security.

Our bad structure makes good governance so, so much more difficult for all.
