Most embarrassing huh…! because if you mean just embarrassing, I have many, and I mean many.. I am as clumsy as it gets when it comes to workplace. But in this one, I have outdone myself in terms of embarrassment.
I work in the IT department of my company, a not too shabby enclosed space with superb lighting where all other IT nerds go on with their coding everyday. So the thing about this enclosed space is its extremely quiet. So quiet that it would make my school teachers the happiest if their class was ever like this, the pin drop silence types.
Confession: Myself along with some guys from college have a whats-app group which is known for it’s THAT kind of posts, if you know what I mean…. And it usually includes nude, GIF’s, short clips and all other kind of media types depicting the basic forms of pleasure in human nature.
Now for my most embarrassing moment — I usually put my phone on silent always. But on that not so funny day somehow it was on full volume. And that same not so funny day someone decided to post a video clip in the group. I went into the group and clicked on the video still under the assumption the phone’s on silent. Guess what happened, of course it was all the sounds of pleasure from the two of them in the clip emanating from my phone loud and clear for everyone to hear. There were constant giggles, laughs, whines, occasional sighs of disgust and eeayyh, who is that, Konji master, Aaah kind of shout!!
And that was the one time I literally wanted to hide in a bubble forever. I wanted to dig a hole under me and jump in it. I wanted to find a bag and cover my face inside it. I wanted to just f**king DIE
PS 1: Yes, I should have known better than to open that group while at work
PS 2: Yes, I should have checked my phone if it was on silent or not before I opened it.
PS 3: Yes I acted like a complete immature professionally demeaning person on that day.

During the early days of my career the whole team went on a business retreat to Ghana.

...right from the MM Airport to Kotoka Airport in Ghana people just assumed I was the leader of the group and were giving me 5 Star treatment and approaching me when they wanted to make clarifications while ignoring my bosses

I remember working at an oil and gas training company in Lagos. So, as the instructor and specialist in the E&P sector, I would always tell my trainees how they could be earning not less than #400k as a roustabout in Nigeria (which is true). Meanwhile, my salary was #70k.

At each training session, I would tell lies of how we helped our previous trainees secure oil and gas jobs in UAE and Saudi Arabia. Later, I will still go to the bus stop to jump into Lagos danfo with them. The funny thing is that they would always greet me whenever we see in the bus... probably to let me know that they saw me in the yellow bus. It was very embarrassing.

Working for some people is just difficult because you will have to do away with all your values and keep lying just to keep the job. I have, however, quit the job to become self-employed.

One time in secondary school, I was seating on a window in the class, normal guys gathering, when I saw other students fleeing in different directions, the most notorious diciplanary teacher was walking around, and he must not see you not on ur seat, if devil wan Bleep you up, make he catch you for another class that's not yours, no so I reflectively leaped from where I sat in that window, a piece of mail that was sticking out grab my trouser and tore it like a mad man's trouser, I no quick know say, ahhh until breed blow my bombom, I nearly died of shame.

The type of person I am in class, the lively fun person, who funds humor in everything, including in teachers and sometimes their mode of dressing, the back bencher that always throw in jokes,I still come be prefect again

It was so embarrassing for me, I could even allow my voice to be heard or even stand up from my seat before someone would remind the whole class that my trouser is torn, I had to tie a hoodie around my waist to cover the torn trouser while I was going home, it was few of my friends that noticed and till tomorrow they still yab me about it

It was in school. I went to read somewhere. Beautiful, posh and serious students (including myself) were on ground. I wanted to fart silently and I was so sure it would be silent. Bhet, immediately it sounded loud I lost concentration. All the beautiful and handsome faces knew exactly where it came from. To stand up and go for class became a herculean task. I just wanted to disappear by all means.
