This is a significant survey !!

I'm still surprised how Kano population is hyped during election??

Does that mean international observers know more about Nigeria's population than it's people... ??

How can ilorin be more populated than Aba..

Na who never reach there... have you seen a traffic hold up in ilorin or even kwara state as a whole?

As for Benin being populated than port Harcourt grin
Na normal Edo man hype.
when you check traffic situation on Google map, you would observe that Benin City, port Harcourt, Lagos Abuja, onitsha , Kano, always have lots of traffic .. now are you relating this to the number of cars on the road??

It means an urban area intensely developed for housing, commerce, industry, etc.

Here's a drone coverage of Onitsha

the real dot in a big empty cycle

Look at where almighty Ibadan which some people claim is bigger than the 5 igbo states put together is? undecided

I laugh whenever Yorubas will be counting all the surrounding villages in Oyo as part of Ibadan. This is a globally recognized platform with credibility, it's not all these oluwole and quota system fake statistics they keep churning out in Nigeria all because of politics.

How did Edo people hype their self into that list. You clearly don't know that Benin has that population because the population is evenly distributed. There's enough land in Benin city to accommodate everyone in Onitsha if Benin starts building high rise building like the ones in Onitsha. Benin City has expanded into 5 local government in Edo south. The only Benin has not entered if I am not wrong is Orhiomwon. So don't say what you don't know.

The population in Benin is very very cosmopolitan. You have urhobos here in large numbers, igbos, Yoruba, Hausas. They're so many here.

Benin City has sprawled to the famous benin bypass !! I really got surprised the last time I traveled passed that area... .. Benin City is big .. but not densily built/ populated like we have in Lagos or onitsha..

Second Niger bridge Kee u dia..
A bridge was built over River Benue without much fanfare..
How many bridges built by the FG across the mainland in Lagos without much drama?
Here, for 6 years running, the only thing Buhari and his cohorts keep shouting about is the second Niger bridge.... After 6 years!
If you think folks are greedy, Why are they building structures in the west after the second mainland bridge?

[s]It's statistics like these that make me give up on Nigeria! Imagine taking from Peter and handing over to Paul....even when Paul despises Peter!

Look at Onitsha, that's the second most populated and cosmopolitan area in Nigeria...the city get's next to nothing by way of federal infrastructure, recognition and assistance! Almost all it's developmental and governance challenges are left to the Anambra state gov't to manage! This is as the evil gov't in Abuja is stealing their hydrocarbons and refusing to recognise them as a oil producing state!

Then there's kano, that has benefited from the ridiculous number of LGAs the northern miliatry oligarchs handed over to them! They also benefit financially from the ojoro census whereby they receive a lot more than Anambra from the federation account! All these are the financial benefits you know and hear of.....over the past decades, the cunning muslim northern rulers of Nigeria have devised many other stealthy ways to greedily corner even more of Nigerias' resources to their region!

Lagos, as we all know, benefited from a lot of federal gov't infrastructure! The present Nigerian political-economy in play has also benefitted them by way of the pre-eminent commercial and industrial status the city holds in 'one Nigeria'! This city, owned and invested in by ALL Nigerians is presently being administratively controlled by just one ethnic group as we speak! When you ask them, they will tell you the capital of the country moved to Abuja since 1991 (i think that was the year) and so you should remove your 'covetous' eye from Lagos because it now belongs to them....and they're even doing you a 'favour' by allowing you to live there! lipsrsealed[/s]

Don't take igboson1 serious, he is not igbo but a Niger delta boy impersonating ndigbo.

His aim is always to hit igbo heads together with others and crawl back to his state and region.

Nigeria is a joke. No wonder FG is afraid of another census.
Did you ask your self when was that census conducted by the oyibo or
You believed what one European just sat down and estimated as truth but you will not believe census conducted by your own country.
What most people commenting here failed to put into consideration or know but chose to ignore is that Kano city is not the same as Kano state, Kaduna is not the same as kaduna state.
Whether you agree with me or not, the population of the north is more the less rural. That is to say majority of the northen population are rural dwellers.
Compare with the south which population concentration is mostly town base. And the reasons for this are not far fetched: land and occupation type: For instance, there are numerous researches which clearly show that one of the most dense occupied place in Africa is the south eastern Nigeria. But this does not mean that the people of eastern Nigeria are more in population than every other in Africa.
Therefore, Lagos may be more populated than Kano but Lagos State is not populated than Kano state. Even with out census, most of the statistical data in this respect favour Kano than Lagos.
