The Federal Consumer Protection Council will hold a public hearing into the death of Mrs. Peju Ugboma after a surgical/medical procedure at Premier Hospital, Victoria Island, Lagos State. The public hearing will take place on Tuesday, June 15, 2021 at the Lagos Chamber of Commerce and Industry Conference and Exhibition Centre at Number 10, Dr Nurudeen Olowopopo Way, Alausa, Ikeja. The public hearing will be shown live on TVC News and it will also be streamed live on YouTube, Facebook and Instagram.

I have been following this story since April not because I know the deceased or any member of her family, but because of the Negligence of the hospital where she had the operation.


Having said that, I will wait patiently for a fault-finding inquiry panel and professional disciplinary process to be set up to unravel this gross negligence that led to the death of this beautiful lady.

Medical treatment hazards.

One in a million ways to die.

In life ive come to realize that so many lives have been wasted due to medical negligence or unprofessionalism from medical practitioners and it's on the rise all over the world but it's under reported on media.

I'll suggest the family of the decease (RIP) try and find solace and make sure to get a level of justice because no amount of compensation equates to her life.

Sad one though.

Medical negligence in Nigeria is costing the needless lost of precious souls let alone the abysmal healthcare system.RIP Peju.

That's our hospital oo. This is sad. But Dr Iwuh is a careful and experienced surgeon naw, what could have gone wrong? I hope they get out of this unfortunate quagmire.

Government should equally look into the habit of most medical practitioners that would often request for police report before treating people involved in accident or attacked by armed robbers.

This is a typical medical case in Nigeria. We are only hearing this simply because it involves the rich. The average poor will move on.
