Will you SHUT it there!!!

Was that not why Buhari was elected, esp in 2015? Didnt Buhari promise to remedy the situation?

How come the situation is getting worse on almost every index?

You and the lot of you are even worse than Buhari. You enable him. And you will somehow bring an even worst person in 2023
You couldn’t have said it any better. Even Buhari blames the past governments for his own misfortune. Such a clueless leader

I wish the British can recolonize Nigeria again, take power away from Nigerians. The days of our colonial masters was far better than what Nigerians are forcing through the throat of our people. Buhari said he was going to offer change, but we failed to ask him what change he was going to offer us, now is clear like DSTV the change he was talking about. Bigotry, Ethnicity and religious nepotism, poverty, political witch-hunt, religious cleansing, making cows more valuable than humans. British, come take settlement back, we no longer want independence anymore. We need British rule again
Bringing back British colonial rule is not going to be the solution to Nigeria's problem. They were here for 100 years prior to independence how great was the geographical expression later known as Nigeria was then. There are better solutions to our problems not inviting a dying world power to come and reexploit us again.

Wasn't up to 200million (1991 census put us at approx 89 million, 1979 estimates placed us around 79 million.)

We also did not have as much forex needs as we do now as a result.

Imagine 200million people sharing the same resources 89 million people was already sharing and complaining.

Since I became aware of my existence Nigeria has been fluctuating between 3000 to 5000 megawatt of electricity.

Nigerians are really docile people... imagine the fake official figure as high as 22million with millions more underemployed just for survival cry cry
You cant have such a high number of people without jobs or welfare in a sane population and there would be peace.

It is well... e go beta smiley

What's tha business?
And u think there's peace in Nigeria?

What do u think is the reason for all the insecurities happening in this country.

There is unemployment because population is exploding more than jobs. And the so called graduates dont have skills that can be converted into value. Graduates of philosophy, statistics and international relations are currently useless to Nigeria as it is. We need people who are skilled in mechanized agriculture, fabric spinning and manufacturing, renewable energy, modular construction, Fisheries, logistics solution, primary technical education, waste recycling, etc. If we move into fields that will directly solve Nigerian problems, there will be jobs everywhere.
You want people that are hungry to be innovative?
Things are not as easy as u said, even u talking what's ur skill n how have u used it to provide job?

Early 80s and late 70s was better at least b4 buhari
My dad from a minority tribe in Nigeria walked into top tier Nigerian foreign service without connection.
It's impossible to do that today

Have seen your modification

Reason why your dad got the job...from independence to the early 80's we were replacing the white people with qualified Nigerians. Back then it was more merit based because we had no choice then...even some Northern states had high ranking civil servants from the South

From the 1980's onward, the number of educated people out grew the number of available government jobs. That's when things like federal character came in.

Now, we have an overbloated civil service...and too many graduates. People cannot just walk into government jobs like our fathers did in the 1970's...when many universites had less than 2-3000 students.

No we don't.

Even when the British were around, they only built infrastructure in certain areas...that were of benefit to them. You lived outside those areas, you might as well be in darkness.

My home village did not get electric power under your pleasant British rule...it was under the supposedly inefficient Nigerians that it did.

Also, spending was disproportionately on whites, blacks got the remnants.

If the British were still here, there would be whites only zones, blacks would be living in crowded settlements, and budgetary spending would go on white comfort at our expense.

Lemme disabuse your mind about how the 1980's was better

1.Things were just as bad then, especially when the oil price crashed.

2.Do you know Andrew? If you grew up back then, Andrew was always trying to check out of Nigeria for a better life...in a certain government propaganda ad...that was put out by the Bubu millitary admin.

3.Ever hear of SAP, and how SAP was sapping us.

4.There was one popular car sticker back then ...MY TAKE HOME SALARY CANNOT TAKE ME HOME.

5.Jobs were scarce back then...that was the time when many factories in Lagos were closing down...and becoming churches.

6.One lecturer recalled bringing mangoes from is house to dash students, because many of them were so hungry back then

7. Go and read Chiamanda Adiche's Americana, especially the growing up chapters.,...which give you an idea of how bad things were.

8.Infact the reason why some people refused to vote for Buhari now is that in 1984-5 he did not improve the economy much.

Things were bad in the 1980's. People were doing side hustle back then to survive, even using their car as taxi or kabu kabu...all because the oil price crashed in 1982
Word! Andrew's checking out
on TV in the early 1980s was
truly memorable.
