All kinds of projects are coming up in Lagos.

Majority of the projetcs have ZERO federal input. From urban rail networks, to world class bus terminals, to BRT systems, to entire new metropolises like Eko Atlantic.

If Lagos can do all this stuff without seceding from Nigeria, why can't OnItsha?

Why can't Onitsha build an 'Eko Atantic' of the East?

If all the money spent by IPOB in its dumb agitation was used for attracting major investments to the East, by now the entire East would have been a construction site.

Just like Lagos. angry

When you ensure your region is peaceful, development and investment flows into it. No one is willing to invest in a restive region.

Must it be Lagos?

What about other five Yoruba states?

Can’t they transform themselves in reality and not on NBS statistics.

All developments in Alaigbo have been suspended till the Utopia Biafra is achieved.

The unrest in some part of SE is just to clear some development that are eye sore in the region so that new development could start after the new country has been given

Lagos did not transform itself.

- Lagos was the first FCT, leading to early infrastructures, and attracting the earliest investors in Nigeria.

- This also attracted a huge population, which serves as a ready market for almost any product or service.

- These continue to work in favour of Lagos, giving it a huge IGR compared to other states in Nigeria that didn't have the privilege of being an FTC before.

- Many investors don't want to leave the Lagos market, even if their HQ is in Abuja.

Though I appreciate pst Lagos leaders for their efforts, we should also know that there is no mystery to Lagos economic status in Nigeria.

Plus:
Don't fool yourself. Lagos will secede from Nigeria with Yoruba nation.

Eko oni b'aje.
Oodua a gbe'wa oo.

Show the full picture of Lagos with all the slums.

The perpetually flooded Lekki and Ajah.

Rotten Mainland.

Even after being the pre independence capital of amalgamated Nigeria for 46 years and post independence Federal Capital Territory for 31 good years with billions of petrodollar bankrolling infrastructure and tactical economic emasculation of other regional seaports for only Lagos to work, which is now telling on the Apapa/Oshodi corridor.
Situation of foreign embassies and consulates, billions sunk into making the Murtala Mohammed International the aviation hub of Nigeria and almost the only functional international airport.

Onitsha was built by individuals without Government help.
No federal government presence, No seaport just a non functional riverport, No single foreign consulate, No airport yet vibing real hard.

So there's no basis for the comparison.

Maybe it is because Onitsha has very limited land space and private capital inflow to accommodate such high level of development. Private capital doesn't work based on sentiments. Investors only put their money in places where they're guaranteed of high returns, with a big enough and cosmopolitan consumer market with an accompanying high purchasing power. For a long time, Onitsha has not managed to grow beyond being a regional trading centre, suggesting that the city isn't dynamic enough to attract the level of big projects that the Op is suggesting.

South East is free to secede but they should limit the map within their landlocked five states.

You're a big fool who thinks from the anus.

Don't you know that before you do anything, you must obtain approval from the terrorist FG? Who only gives approval to north and west for such projects.

Some of you are so ignorantly foolish that you think Like imps.

I have a handful of projects that the Fg deprived licenses to the east.

Not only the liscenses, others requires FG bond, which Nigeria doesn't accept for any project in Igbo land.

Next time always get your facts very clearly.

1. Does Onitsha receive monthly allocation from Abuja like Lagos does?
2. Does Onitsha have a seaport like Lagos?
3. Does Onitsha have n airport like Lagos?
4. Is Onitsha the name of a state?

So why comparing Lagos with Onitsha?
