The reports coming in from Camp Nou at the moment is that the club has signed a third player, Memphis Depay.

Depay has been a long time interest of the Catalan club. Last season, he was among the players tipped to make the switch to FC Barcelona. However, the transfer didn’t go through and the Netherland player had to continue at Lyon for the 2020/2021 season.

Barca also came close to signing the Olympique Lyon star during the January transfer window, 2021. Again, that deal didn’t materialize because of money constraints on the part of Barca. But, the Spanish giants never gave up their pursuit of Depay nonetheless.

After a very successful campaign that saw Depay score 20 goals while providing 12 assists to teammates, Barca swooped in and finally landed their man on a free transfer.

His signing is the third of such transfers for FC Barcelona who previously signed Eric Garcia and Kun Aguero on a free transfer from Manchester City. The contract term for the 27yrs old is pegged at 2yrs.

Memphis Depay will join his new teammates after his International duties with Netherlands where he is helping the team in their EURO 2020 title push.

Also people like Gerard Pique, Sergio busquets, Jordi Alba etc should be offloaded because they have nothing more to offer .
