It has become of tremendous concern how the so called bandits have become a security challenge without solution in Nigeria. Is it possible that this meets with the highly quoted statement that any insecurity that goes beyond two weeks is state sponsored? This suspicion is reasonable going by the perceived influx of a certain foreign people who specialize in 'okada' riding everywhere in Nigeria. There is also an allusion that the present head of government shares affinity with these people. However the crux of the matter is that most if not all the celebrated kidnapping cases today especially in the northern Nigeria are effectively carried out with okada. Therefore, it is a bit baffling that our security institutions and intelligentsia have not thought of or recommended a total ban on use of okada in Nigeria. This I think if implemented for a year will drop and possibly end the present blossoming kidnapping business. It will be interesting to know what naira landers think.

This post was on Nairaland and seemed highly ignored. The chicken is gradually coming home to roost.
