Gas whose use directly affects most Nigerians is not subsidized and no one has died of hunger because of it, yet petrol that is enjoyed by few for luxury is the most subsidized angry

This pple have tried everything humanly possible to push Nigerians to the extreme wall, but Nigerians choose not to react.Probably when it becomes unbearable we will react but honestly this hardship is much under the lifeless president.
when will it become unbearable? Some people already eating grasses, simply put it Nigerians are special species of humans being specially created for suffering especially those people from northern Nigeria

If Igbos knew they have this great amount of gas, they would have only agitated and fought for a core Igbo country and not Biafra with very lazy ss minority tribes. Now that oil value is depreciating and the focus is now on gas, how can they put up a resistance against those who plundered as oil?

What was discovered in Ondo and Lagos(offshore) combined is not up to a quarterof what was discovered in Imo state. The government is presently building two big gas plants in Imo state as we speak.
9jaRealist:

First, it’s NOT the South-East (or at least not just in the SE)…
New gas finds have been made in Ondo and off the Lagos coast, and ALWAYS new finds deep offshore (off South-South coast).

Nonetheless, what’s does it matter where the gas has been discovered?
Gas deposits in itself is of NO VALUE unless they’re successfully and cost-efficiently extracted, stored and/or transported and monetized.

That gas is found on your land (NOT your region) means you are owed rent, and not necessarily revenue…
Unless you are contributing to the extraction and monetization of those gas deposits with finance, technology and actual work

In Nigeria, “region” people who have absolutely NOTHING to do with PRODUCTION feel entitled to revenues therefrom…
That’s why you have the absurdity of oil production in Isoko but revenues sent to Asaba or production in Okrika but revenues to PH.

Instead of this rent-seeking obsession with SHARING revenues…
Nigeria and Nigerians should focus on PRODUCTION and duly reward actual PRODUCERS!

Something is not adding up somewhere, it's either the manufacturers are hiding something or merely grandstanding. How can you enjoy gas at $3.5/mmbtu for many years, it's increased to $5.1/mmbtu and then threaten to go to other African countries where the same gas is sold for as high as $15/mmbtu?
Some will even threaten to leave Nigeria where fuel is sold at 162 to go and pay 450 in other African country, I will say bon voyage!

tellsblinks:
It's right time buhari and his subordinates needs to act fast.

Set up local gas companies and mine this "unexplored gases" to reduce the price of gases from skyrocketing.

With the increase demand in gases across the world I fear a bigger "gas boom" Bigger than the oil boom that happened during abacha regime is about to happen.

Guys watch out for 2023 election, anybody that wins it automatically becomes a transgenerational trillionaire

No matter how much gas deposit a country has, there's a cost at which it can be processed to usable standard and delivered to end users safely. This cost is not free and changes with changes in foreign and domestic market realities.
Except you advocate another regime of subsidy that will stifle investment in the gas sector and prone to corruption
