Nigerian TV host, Frank Edoho, says Vice President Yemi Osinbajo’s leadership capabilities are threatening some of the people who are around him.

Edoho, who anchored the popular national television show, Who Wants To Be A Millionaire, also admitted that he is guilty of thinking that the Vice President should have been more responsive on issues plaguing the country, acknowledging that Prof. Osinbajo is doing a lot.

“I was guilty of thinking Prof. Osinbajo should have been more responsive to the issues that plague the nation, but now I realise that he is surrounded by people who are threatened by the enormity of his leadership capabilities. And they will stop him from vying for the top job,” Edoho said in response to a tweet by Oladele Peter.

Peter in a series of tweets outlined some of the achievements of Prof. Osinbajo as Acting President and Vice President, highlighting how he has continuously pushed for people-oriented policies.

He also detailed how the Vice President showed strong leadership as Acting President including how he fired then DSS DG, Lawal Daura and sent the name former Chief Justice of Nigeria, Walter Onnoghen to the National Assembly for approval.

“Prof. Osinbajo as Acting President sacked DG of DSS for invading NASS. He also directed Chief Of Army Staff and other service chiefs to move to Maiduguri with immediate effect.”

Peter also wrote that, “I remember Prof. Yemi Osinbajo as acting visiting Niger Delta to meet stakeholders and asking militants to surrender and embrace the amnesty programme started by President Ya'dua and that was the end to all facilities bombing.

“Prof. Osinbajo visited Maiduguri and Gombe less than 24 after a Boko Haram attack and he also visited our troops and the victims of the attack.

“Osinbajo also visited Imo and Ebonyi to restore peace after communal clash and herdsmen attack.”

“We all must know that the executive functions of Nigerian Vice President asides chairing NEC and membership of some committee ‘is as delegated by Mr President," he said.

Prof. Osinbajo has got a good heart. However, the roles of the vice president is clearly defined in the Nigeria constitution. There are too many forces in the presidency itself.
Despite, the dictations of his roles by our constitution, he is doing his best for our country. And he hasn't built a private University in his state.

I know some people are still in the dark on roles of the vice president, some even want him to perform roles of the president. I believe this post will liberate many who still dwell in that thought that Osinbajo carry out most of his functions by delegation.
