Governor Nasir el-Rufai of Kaduna State has said that Boko Haram terrorists and bandits are different from the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, and their leader, Nnamdi Kanu, because they don’t have a recognised and centralised leadership.

He said Kanu is a visible and central leader, based abroad and calling for the dissolution of the country.

Governor el-Rufai said this in an interview on BBC Pidgin monitored by Vanguard, on Friday morning.

el-Rufai made the comments while responding to a question bordering on Nigerians asking why the bandits and terrorists in the North are not being treated with the same swiftness agitators in the southern parts are dealt.

According to el-Rufai, “I was very happy (when Nnamdi Kanu was arrested) because, first he jumped bail, jeopardising his sureties.

“This should be a message to all these separatists challenging the authority of the Nigerian State to be very careful.”

Asked about handling Boko Haram and bandits with the same swiftness, he said: “No! No! No! No! People are comparing apples to oranges.

“Nnamdi Kanu is the leader of IPOB, a proscribed organisation. He is identifiable, in constant communication and everyone knows where he is.

“Let’s take Boko Haram for instance. Shekau was in hiding and for the past 10 years and the military had been waging a war to get him.

“It is not like Shekau was in Saudi Arabia, sitting in one place, tweeting about the break up of Nigeria or asking Boko Haram to go and kill Helen and Nasir el-Rufai.

“Nnamdi Kanu is in one place while Shekau is waging guerrilla warfare. The insurgency is still going on and the Federal Government is not giving up.

“Regarding bandits, they are not centralised under one leadership. Who is the head of the bandits? Who is the equivanlent of Nmandi Kanu with banditry?

“Bandits are just collections of independent criminals. It is a business for them. It is not a case of Nigeria must break up.

“I want to challenge anyone to tell me the central leader of bandits in the same position as Kanu.”

What of Miyetti Allah? Don't they also have a leader? A group of bororo Fulani cow herders openly threatened to kill a sitting governor and they almost carried through with their threat yet none of their leaders have been arrested. Instead, government is providing covert support for the Fulani terrorists.

You can imagine.

Nairalanders please see my signature. A nairalander named Korede has refused to pay for the truck of rice delivered to Ibadan last year September. Korede and his Ibadan partners sold all the bags of rice and has refused to pay.

Dis is exactly why thunder will continue to punish U all... If not for the fact dat southerners based in the north are also at risk of these bandits and terrorists, I would celebrate every attack of the bandits and boko haram... Ediots

Y'all Southerners against Kanu and Igboho are so daft and senseless at the same time.

The North will defend Boko Haram, they will defend Shekau, they will defend Fulani bandits, they defended the terrorist called Pantami who openly declared his support for terrorists if Osama Bin Laden was from Northern Nigeria, Northerners will still defend him.
Northern elites backed Fulani terrorists will leave the far North and go from Calabar to Delta to Ebonyi from Ebonyi to Edo to Oyo to Port Harcourt from PH to Imo to Ogun slaughtering your people without any provocation, they take over your people's farm land but y'all dumb lots because you stay in the city and you have money to secure yourself you think many of your kinsmen can do the same.

It is a matter of time before it dawn on you fools that Fulani plan is to enslave you forever while feeding fat on resources gotten from your land.
If you think it doesn't concern you now and it continues like this, it will eventually get to you but it will be too late for you.

Woe unto y'all Southern politicians selling out your people for political relevance.

Buhari is reaping the seeds of discord he sowed during his opposition days.

This sane Buhari instigated the violence that ensued after the 2011 election.

He once threatened a sitting president with riot.

He has never been a lover of peace and his Fulani supremacy is all he wants to achieve.

None of those sitting presidents had his time, they only saw him as a hungry dog seeking for attention.

Same Buhari is the one clamping down on every known critics.

Well, he has less than 2 years in Aso Rock

Such a shame that this governor asks citizens to tell him what he already knows and is part of. The founder of boko haram was well known and how he was killed is openly known. Shekau who resigned in his stead was well known until his so called suicide. The son of the founder of boko haram who became a factional leader is well known to them all. The new leader of boko haram informed the whole world.

This nation will remain in this position until we have leaders who are far less tribalistic and nepotistic as these present ones.

Bandits have leaders. We have been told how bandit ogas make tons of money kidnapping and giving peanuts to their boys. Those who accepted amnesty offered by some governors are surely not boys. Was it not this same man who told the whole world that money was given to bandits as settlement after the 2015 election? Surely monies were not given to boys but to the leaders of the respective bandit groups.

I think these people should stop deceiving themselves and attempting to mesmerize us all the time. They should get their Fulani relatives to behave themselves and let's all have peace of mind.

Bandits are just a collection of criminals... It's a (northern) business... They are not calling for the dissolution of the country...

Hehehe grin grin grin
I don't blame him though
Southerners are mostly fools and short sighted.

So let's wait until the bandits conduct an election within their ranks... Then this administration will take them serious.
