I may understand that of road safety but fire service to carry AK47 is not reasonable ,again if the road safety must take up arms, let it be 24rounds pistol not AK47 same applies with the Fire Service

I am beginning to believe that I am in a zoo.

I have never heard of any attack on Fire Service men while on an emergency operation.

Who will attack someone going to quench fire?

Let everyone Nigerian carry weapons, abeg.

It appears APC lack the ability to think. Thinking involves more than just saying the first nonsense that pops into your mind.
Thinking itself is a subject that is thought in schools....from systemic thinking, creative thinking, analytic thinking etc

These help you to generate ideas, weigh the pros and cons and eventually come up with the best possible solution. What I see in our society is a shallow level of thinking, no deep thought is put into anything.

Mobs often attack fire service officials whenever called because they are not able to provide enough water to quench fire. Sometimes, the crowd often block the road instead of making way so that fire trucks can get easy access.

However, Firearms are a little bit extreme to disperse mobs. Tear gas is recommended! Most importantly, the FG should work on ensuring Fire hydrants are installed in most places and ensure there is always water for the fire hydrants. This resolves the problem instead of generating new ones.

This leads to making water available to everyone in a city and not every body digging wells and boreholes. Rather water is provided by the water board of the city where people can pay monthly or some form of payment. It's a win win situation for everyone involved.

But trust the Nigerian government to ever take the backward and extreme approach to resolving problems and creating new or more problems.

Thank you for this comment.

As long as the Armed Firefighters are Fulani, I am cool with it.

Fulani FG must decimate the Southerners until they unite and have common sense

Why is this government so clueless and daft...can't you just assign a few police officers or NSCDC officers to each fire fighting crew? This country tire me o!
Nigeria ain't ready for fire hydrants...we don't even have stable public water supply.

Kaylet:
Fire fighters of other countries don't carry arms.(FRSC doesn't need arms too)

They don't need arms, they don't have sufficient gadget for their work yet, they're agitating for arms.

Everything is towards arms, there's more to it

Another to arm the Fulanis and flood them into those agencies.

This just shows the level of incapacity of our police. No need to be arming fire services, FRSC and likes when we have trained police for such. We will soon arm ambulances, waste management, revenue collectors etc at the rate we're going. It is in the purview of the police to respond to such emergencies to maintain orderliness and provide security.

FRSC, fire service, EFCC and likes are supposed to be departments in the police formation.

The police should be equipped and directed to also respond to such emergencies to provide cover for efficient service delivery.

Re: Fire Service Workers To Start Carrying AK-47, Other Firearms by CHARLOE(m): 10:55am On Jul 04, 2021
This is hilarious n will only have tragic consequences. What d fire service need is police escort. D frsc is supposed to be an arm if d police, that way they'll be entitled to carrying pistols, not AK-47. Why d fixation on AK-47?
