Nenny May though quite young writes psychological and legal thrillers, romantic suspense, and mystery novels. Her books are nail-biting page-turners. Her titles include Missing, The Perfect Father, and Miller Avenue Murder that is due to release September 15th, 2021. And this article is going to center around the upcoming novel Miller Avenue Murder. Here’s what we know about the book. From the Amazon Bestselling author of Missing, comes a riveting new psychological thriller. Tillamook county, Northwest Oregon had been lulled, a slumber gradually trailing the brisk night when an unthinkable tragedy sends a tremor through the district. Blake Campbell an antique storekeeper had been found lacerated in a threadbare wedding dress in the heart of her late husband’s home on Miller Avenue. And four women find themselves tied to the investigation. Detective Rachel Olson believes it’s a wedding night gone wrong. Criminal law professor Claire Fisher thinks it’s the ex-wife. Psychologist Lisa Patterson is convinced it’s the disturbed son. And District Attorney Regan Sinclair has her money on the governor. Four perspectives and a killer on the loose. Miller Avenue Murder is set in Tillamook County North West Oregon in October 2019 when an antique storekeeper is found lacerated in the heart of her husband’s Miller Avenue home and pursues four main characters and countless supporting characters. Now I know what you’re thinking… Four main characters? That’s going to be very confusing. I thought so too going into the book, but I assure you, It is not. The characters are weaved together so intricately that it works. It’s kind of like that overly packed bowl of ice cream with all the fix in and it works. Let’s delve a little further into the characters. These main characters are Detective Rachel Naomi Olson, an African-American female protagonist and sleuth with roots in Trinidad who suffers from anxiety and trauma from her first marriage and the death of her mother is placed on the case where she works with love interest Detective Dawson — a witty, cocky and sarcastic sidekick whose only other family member in Tillamook is his sister Channel Six news reporter Annabelle Dawson; a bi-sexual supporting character who not only weaves friendship into the plot but sheds a brighter light on the life the deceased, Blake Campbell, led before she passed on. Also on this Miller Avenue Murder case is Psychologist Lisa Patterson, A Black American bi-sexual main character with Moroccan roots who initially believed Blake Campbell’s troubled son Paul was the killer. Enlisting the help of Asian-American District Attorney Reagan Sinclair for her own benefit, she learns who of Paul Campbell’s innocence and has her eye on a new suspect; Governor Bernard Sutter. Paul who was engaged to Indian-American Criminal Law Professor Claire Fisher is traumatized by the death of his mother and indulges in an affair that triggers schizophrenic episodes. His fiancé Claire who’d taken matters into her own hands and delved into an investigation of her own learns of a failed divorce between the late Christopher Campbell and his first wife, annulling his marriage with the deceased, painting Christopher’s first wife as a murder suspect. From this, we can pick out that the book not only features interracial characters but LGBTQ+ characters as well and mentally burdened protagonists. This is the ideal book if you’re looking for representation in all aspects while not missing out on the edge-of-your-seat thriller theme. I was able to get this book as an ARC from the author, but this book is available for preorder at only $0.99! It’s almost free! I would so preorder this! And there’s already talk about the paperback and the cover is, WOW! Even the teasers have me hooked! And it’s only the first book in the series. It is rumored that the second book is in the works and so far, all we have is the book cover and the title and I’m already excited!
