compton11: The thread you are commenting on has shown China annexing the south china sea to themselves and you are still asking me questions. There are international laws that govern coastal boundaries and which part of the sea are international waters. There is no how the line claimed by China does not encroach the soverienty of other countries. If you are a person of history, you would know that you don't want the fight the USA and coalition. No matter how powerful you think you are. |

compton11: It is obvious you know nothing about war, history and all. You think war is won by number of soldiers? 200 Million soldiers with just riffles, have you thought of logistics? mobility, coordination, support, feeding etc? Your opponent will just cut off your supply route and you are all weak, unmotivated, dead. |

tempest01: @Bolded part makes me curious. Who wrote those laws though, no be the same UN which is majorly controlled by US, UK and EU and can veto any law they want. Those three lots also break those laws themselves regularly whenever they like without anyone questioning them You people quoting international laws are funny. When you become as big as the likes of US, China and Russia, International laws just become another piece of paper, and you own local law will be seen as superior to it. Even USA knows that China won't follow the Hague rulling , that is why they are using military. International laws can only be used to intimidate small fishes in the ocean no the big fishes like whales . 2 Likes 1 Share |

timay: You are just showing your ignorance more and more. The "local law" you claim, what is the local law in Japan, Indonesia, Vietnam etc? If there is no international maritime law that applies how will these countries surrounding themselves know their boundary and avoid unnecessary conflict? Even without international law it is nonsensical for China to claim the whole of the China Sea to themselves as other countries are around them and also have a claim to parts of the sea. Not just by history, proximity and heritage. There are also international waterways that the right of passage is guaranteed to every legal ship making transit. |

falopey: I asked you a simply question on the entirety of your first paragraph but you still went ahead to spew around. Which among those countries can't China beat? Is it Libya? Iraq? Liberia? Somalia? Tell me which among them. And let me repeat myself, China brutalized America during their first and only large-scale confrontation so talking about American exploits in utterly powerless countries doesn't hold water. Even India can beat those third world countries talk more of China. Secondly, I wonder what makes you think going to war is the only thing that determines whether or not a country is powerful. That said, I suggest you go and read more about Chinese history. Apart from actively participating in the Korean war and kicking out the US (along with 12 other UN countries), they also helped VIETNAM TO BEAT the US. Also, China went to war against India and won decisively. Here is what your logic sounds like: Uganda once went to war with Tanzania so definitely, they are better than China "which has never fought a war" |

Funflipper: I'm sure even Japanese people would laugh at this. Countries change. As at 1937, Germany and Britain were the most powerful nations in the world. What's their status now? |

falopey:How did China take over the Paracel Islands in the South China Sea if it hasn't fought any wars as you say? The truth is China has fought many wars ranging from the Chinese Civil War to the Vietnam War. The list is long. If it's by wars fought alone then countries like Iraq, Syria, Afghanistan etc should also be military superpowers. Buts it's about the hi-tech weapons and cutting edge technology and sheer size of military. |

FoolishBoy419: Their status? Bleep with them then you will understand that they are not just a country but a coalition of nations fighting together. Russia knows, china knows that. what do you think NATO is for? If china is fighting any member nation of NATO then they arw fighting the rest of them at the same time. It is called modern warfare. Not the obsolete war tactics china is banking on. They will be wiped off the face of earth. The US alone has defwnse treaties with Phillipines, vietnam, taiwan, japan so they are right there at china's doorstep amd that is why the US navy will never stop sailing through the controversial south china sea. |

Funflipper: Every country, including your almighty USA cherry-picks its opponents. For example, they invaded Iraq because of SUSPECTED development of WMDs but North Korea did it and RUBBED IT IN THEIR FACES without consequences. Also, if Iran was Uganda, do you think it wouldn't be in ruins now? War is expensive and destructive which is why many superpowers avoid even slightly powerful countries. Superpowers, and yet here you are talking about Japan beating China. If all of those countries gang up against China, it will become just a matter of distributing ICBMs to them. It took just 2 drops of a far less powerful bomb to make Japan surrender. Now imagine China sending dozens of nuclear bombs to these countries. They will be obliterated within a short period and then the fight will become even again 2 Likes |

FoolishBoy419: If china is that powerful like you claim, why haven't they been able to stop the america navy from sailing through the south china sea? China sending dozens of nuclear bombs to where? You think it is as easy as earing rice and beans? Can china fight NATO (the strongest coalition ever)? In your mind, you think Iran can fix the US? Please you know nothing about military warfare. |
Re: China Military ‘drove Away’ US Warship In South China Sea by FoolishBoy419: 10:59am On Jul 14, 2021 |
Funflipper: China don't want to attack the US because they don't want war, same way US can't attack them or Russia. It's not because one nation is stronger than the other as you believe. Secondly, how hard is it? Reports have it that China has hypersonic missiles already. How many NATO countries have what it takes to counter them? And you seem to be forgetting that China also has nuclear armed allies too. Pakistan alone has enough nuclear warheads to render Japan, Vietnam, and Phillipines useless. |
