Why Other Governorship Candidates Are Jealous Of Soludo – Emecheta

The convener of the Anambra Demands Soludo (ADS), Mr Jude Emecheta has given very vital reasons why he feels other governorship candidates are jealous and envious of Professor Soludo’s aspiration to succeed Governor Willie Obiano come November 6 this year.

Emecheta said unequivocally that the jealousy stems from his gigantic attainments especially as Prof. Soludo is a renowned and very respected world economist whose technical know-how and educational background has helped in resuscitating many ailing economies.

Emecheta who spoke with our correspondent in an exclusive interview in Awka maintained that other candidates are already developing cold feet and conceding defeat because they feel Soludo was too educated and too internationally exposed to govern Anambra State.

Though he described Prof. Soludo as a change agent, economic reformer and one who has what it takes to bring the world to Anambra but according to him, those who are allergic to change are already crying foul because Prof. Soludo won’t condone mediocrity.

Emecheta said, “I am confident Soludo will win the majority of the votes in the south senatorial zone. People see him as a change agent. There is this peer group jealousy because he was a one-time governor of the apex bank; he is known worldwide and now he wants to become the state governor.

“The offence Soludo committed for aspiring to become the next governor is that he has come to turn Anambra state around and cause a transformational change in the system. A change that would be beneficial to every sector of the state economy. ”
