Good day everyone.

I want to take this time out to explain the Biafran flag for those who do't understand it.
I will be brief and straight to the point.

First let me infom that the inspiration of the Biafran flag was drived from Marcus Garvey flag, a Jamaican activist who sought to unify
all the blacks in the world both in and outside Africa and end colonialism. His flag was simply red, black and green

Now to the meaning of Biafran flag
RED: Biafra was formed by Odumegwu Ojukwu(May his soul rest in peace) immidiately after the masaccare of many Igbos around the country. Red represents blood in honour to all the matyrs.

BLACK: Black represents the skin colour of the Igbos and the struggle for Biafran was seen as a pan African movement to free blacks
from the manipulations of Britain. Already, British control in Nigeria was mostly challenged by people of Igbo extraction both during and after colonization. Biafra was seen by most proponents as a country which will surley query these exploitations. It is beleived within the Biafran circle that one of the reasons why Britain was not comfortable with Nigerian separation is that with the human resources the Biafrans have, if oil resources is added, then their influence will surely be challenged.

GREEN: Because the east existed in vegetation area of the country and have lively potentials, green was added.

SUN: Simply because they live in the east where the sun Rises.

Abokey, do they need your validation on how their flag should look? Hell no!

You've never needed their validation on how brown your gworo-teeth should be. Have you?

I like your narrative, it's educative.... But the sun rise in east, and set in the West...
so the symbol should be because the sun rise from the east....it's "biafra land of the rising sun "
Good!?

Mr OP you failed that Sun and green part.
The Sun simply means that Biafra is an Emerging Super Power

The Green means the Resilience nature of the Biafrans. Never to be erased.

Do your research well

Re: Understanding The Biafran Flag by Nobody: 5:56pm On Jul 19, 2021
The symbol that you say represents the rising sun because Igboland is in the east is quite... somehow.

When Nigeria breaks up, you won't be in the east or southeast of anywhere.
