This Nigga must be high on cheap weed to have averred that the Binis had Igbo slave. His knowledge of history is zero in this regard. The Igbo-Bini relationship can be traced back to Ezechima the great herbalist from Arochukwu whose great healing service was sought by Oba of Bini many numerous years ago. Ezechima became so powerful that after the death of the Oba, many Binis fought for the descendants of Ezechima to ascend the Bini throne and this led to crisis that required the descendants of Ezechima tracing back their ancestral home but before then, most of them had married Bini woman hence the cultural similarities.
Reno should stop spreading falsehood.

Na u dey spread falsehood sef grin

If u don't know, the line of kings from Oba Eweka to the present Oba Ewuare is unbroken..

Every Benin person knew who the next king will be... We had a defined rule on Ascension of the throne

Any fight for the throne at most was between two princes

Nowhere in Benin history was it recorded that Benin fought for a herbalist to become their king

Haha! Dreamer. Who did you conquer and took as slaves? What battles did you fight? Did you even have an established monarchial system? When the British came, while the Binis fought and stood firm, didn’t you bend over and took it all?

Or why do you think the catholic culture and priesthood is well rooted in igbos than anywhere else in the south even though they crossed several southern tribes to get to you. You couldn’t resist, after you heard of the fall of your masters - bini throne to the British, you bent over easily. You took it all.

hmmm i always wondered why igbos carry catholic for head like gala. that father mbaka thinks he is the pope with his catholic outfit

Ikwerre's are lost clans of igbos owned by the bini's as slaves, why will they play to the gallery?

The Royal kings of ikwerre are EZEs and Igwes that is igbo if the ikwerre are not igbos at least their kingship royals should be distinct

Your comment is self contradictory.

Is RENO really serious?
See Itsekiri man talking crap calling people slaves his people had in captivity. His people that have no legitimate land and defined origin. Probably migrated from Yoruba land to settle in Ijaw & Urhobo land in Warri, land that is still disputed till date.
Itsekiri's are a confused race, most are half Potoki due to the bastardizing vide impregnating of his ilk by drunk colonialists hence the preponderance of half castes in their race.

He should instead clarify how his Itsekiri hamlet are claiming Warri which belongs to Urhobo and Ijaw, and how they have cunningly turned their Olu of Itsekiri to Olu of Warri.
See who is talking! A tribe that only inhabits less than one Local Govt. area is claiming to have dominated major tribes and taken slaves.
Arrant nonsense
!!

Pls Reno, if you read this, tell us on how your people have cunningly ursurped the supposed next in line for the Olu throne to a smallie just because he is in-law to a Bini billionaire! Don't you know that he who lives in a glass house doesn't throw stones?

This is where your types are getting it wrong. Ikwerre people are saying that Igbo is Ikwerre and not the other way.
Don't mind the size or your population.
We bear Eze as name. As a title it could be a borrowed one as one rulers bear Nye we Ali or Eli depending the part of Ikwerre you are.
See tell your kind the is difference between who speaks Igbo and Igboid language. Someone who speaks Igbo is an Igbo person. Someone who speaks Igboid is not necessary an Igbo person but may have got some relationship with Igbo people. ..

Lol you ikwerre's are just confused suffering from identity crisis ,
whether ikwerre is igbo or igbo is igbo, one thing is certain there are about 20 igbo subgroups out there in South south and South East and ikwerre is just one of them

the ikwerre's claim they migrated from bini why borrow royal titles from the igbos? Why not speak an edoid or bini dialect instead? The Ibibio are more closer to the igbos they were once allies of igbos yet the didn't borrow igbo royal titles, why ikwerre?

Benin empire sold mainly yoruba and itshekiri slaves

The Benins never at any time sold itsekiris as slaves. If you think they did, then tell us the history.

You certainly don't know the strong connection that exist between the Benins and
the itsekiris. The fact that you can't even spell the name of the tribe correctly shows that you don't know anything.

Even the Itsekiris were under the Bini. Reno is being smart by half for saying the Itsekiri and the Binis. It was actually the Binis.

The Bini empire was the only one in Nigeria the Portuguese and later the British referred to as ‘Great’ in all of their text. Its influence spanned into the south west to present day lagos, ondo & ekiti, beyond the river Niger up to the kalabari and even cross rivers.

Its was for the untainted loyalty of the king in calabar to the Bini throne that he choose to be banished there by the British.

Bini Empire spread to Lagos, Ekiti and Ondo, stop sitting with drunk old men, they talk like adolescent girls.

When you are talking about Bini empire you are referring to the Oba dynasty which was created by Oranmiyan a Prince from Ile Ife. There was nothing like Idu/Igodomigodo empire or Ogiso empire, so in other words the Yoruba Prince from Ile Ife actually formed the Benin empire and he was the one that also form the Oyo empire. The sit the first Oba of Lagos who of course is 100% Yoruba man was given to him by Aromire because of the bond that they are all from Ile Ife. The Idu/Igodomigodo had no single influence in any Yoruba land even itehkiri land, it is only the Oba of Benin who of course has his ancestry link to Ile Ile Ife. Yoruba Itehkiris migrated from Ile ife almost the same time with Oranmiyan and the Usen people in Edo state. When the Benin Royal house started formulating stories of Ekaladerhan initiated by Erediauwa the Yoruba cut the link and stopped the special preference in Yorubaland. Even the recent appointment of the Olu of Warri shows that the Yorubas have stopped the special preference given to the Benin Royal house.

grin Nice One! I Need More Of It.

Don't believe anything you read hook-line-sinker. Reason am critically.
First, if Reno wasn't proud of the dark history, why use the pronoun "WE" making himself part of that dark history?

Answer, he gas ulterior motive why he unknowingly was proudly associating himself with that dark history. And when this happens, people always doctor their story..

Slavery between people of a kind (blacks & blacks, Africans & Africans, Asians & Asians) always involved war, and conquering people and enslaving them. So I want to ask Reno, was there a history of war between the Benin and Igbos to make them take igbos in such numbers as slaves?

If there wasn't a war between the Benin and Igbos, then I smell that the igbos, Benin, and many blacks in nigeria were just slaved, harbored, transported enroute Benin, because they have water bodies. So since Benin served as warehouse/route for slaves from all over the south south and southeast, and those not been able to go that wicked journey, maybe due to ban, had to be released, and many found their closest possible destination and settled, while a few resilient ones found their way back to their various kinsmen.

We vehemently refuse to be associated with you people. We are a distinct ethnic group. We let Nigerians know even before the war. The Nigerian Constitution recognizes us as a distinct ethnic group. We are no you. But if you are so envious of the Ikwerre identity especially to be called Port Harcourt boy we have no problem in adopting you.
