Arsenal is adamant about not lowering the asking price for the highly coveted midfielder

According to reports, Arsenal is adhering to their €20 million asking price for midfielder Granit Xhaka, who is desired by Jose Mourinho’s Roma.

The Serie A giants have held talks with Arsenal in the hope of agreeing on a summer move for the Switzerland international, who the Portuguese head coach wants in his team next season.

The Giallorossi, on the other hand, have yet to find common ground with the London giants, with Mikel Arteta’s side refusing to move from their €20 million asking price, according to the Italian tabloid Il Tempo.

The Emirates Stadium outfit is said to want to bring in the whole €20 million to assist finance their signings.

Arsenal is expected to spend much on Brighton and England central defender Ben White, as well as Anderlecht midfielder Sambi Lokonga.

The Italians are likely to need player sales to go closer to the north Londoners’ asking price, and they could up their offer if goalkeeper Robin Olsen and attacker Justin Kluivert are sold to Lille and Nice, respectively.
