Borno state governor, Professor Babagana Umara Zulum on Thursday inaugurated 1000 Volunteer Hunters who were properly screened by men of the Department of State Security, DSS to adequately secure all farmers and farmlands against Boko Haram attacks in Jere, Maiduguri Metropolitan Council, MMC, Mafa and Konduga Local Government Areas.

The inauguration ceremony took place at Khadamari Irrigation Farms in Jere Local Government Area.

Zulum said, “although Armed forces and other security agencies including men of the Civilian Joint Task Force have been doing very well in the fight against insurgents, it is also important to engage local hunter groups who were more conversant with the terrain in order to speed up and end the lingering crisis.

“As a government, we shall not relent in our sustained efforts to ensure that insurgents are decimated and have no breathing space in our land.

“We shall provide immediate support economically to all of you and your families, and I appealed to you not to engage in activities that are contrary to the rules of the land”. Zulum cautioned.

He also enjoined the local hunters to be good ambassadors and tasked them to take the fight to the doorsteps of the terrorists so as to provide enabling environment to the people, particularly farmers during this cropping season.

In his welcome address, member representing Jere Federal Constituency, Hon. Ahmed Satomi recalled that, six months ago, governor Zulum directed the incorporation of local hunters complement efforts of the security agencies, hence, his constituency, Jere swung into action by profiling genuine hunters who are later screened and found capable by DSS safeguard its citizenry/farmers.

He commended governor Zulum for his support towards the fight against Boko Haram and the gallantry efforts by troops that have to bring about relative peace in the state and the entire North East
subregion.

Zulum is a wicked man, haba ordinary hunters should take the fight to the world deadliest terrorist doorsteps. And this motivational speech will enter these hunters head and make them be feeling like “commandos”

Even the well trained and well equipped Nigeria army are repellent when it comes to Bokoharam.

This is what I expect every governor fighting those blood thirsty Fulani killer herdsmen and and terrorist murderous bandits to be doing right now.
Employ hunters, vigilantes, unemployed youths,market women,farmers, volunteers anyone ready to fight these killers into some kind of pseudo protection agency.
If killer herdsmen,or terrorist bandits knows they are going to a community or farm where even the farmer is trained to defend himself or herself they will think twice.
Until there's a continuous blood bath,I repeat continuous bloody confrontation between the citizens of these communities and the terrorist killer herdsmen and murderous bandits,it seems Gen Buhari will never hear the cry of these communities.
Governor Ortom should do the needful and stop complaining to someone who's indifferent to his situation.
