Chelsea has until Friday to make an offer for Borussia Dortmund's Erling Haaland or risk losing him for another summer, according to reports. This is according to Eurosport, which claims that Haaland will be unsellable in 72 hours based on information from German sources. Putting a deadline on the Norwegian's possible departure should bring an end to one of the summer's most arduous transfer sagas.

The Blues and Dortmund have been back and forth, with reports and rumors spreading about how close they were to reaching an agreement. Chelsea appears to have moved on to another target in the form of Romelu Lukaku, even before this stated deadline. Inter Milan has previously turned down one huge offer from the Stamford Bridge hierarchy. However, it is reported that another idea is in the works.

Dortmund can undoubtedly exhale a sigh of relief now that the Champions League champion's focus has shifted elsewhere. Losing Haaland would put a serious dent in their season-long goals. Last year, his 41 goals in all competitions almost single-handedly propelled Dortmund to European qualification. Not to mention winning the DFB-Pokal with a double from their intelligent center-forward in the final. This isn't to suggest Chelsea won't try one final time to get to Haaland. However, all signs are that they are currently solely focused on Lukaku.
