Lakisha was born in 1977, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA, to Shamsuddin Ali and Faridah Ali. She was born into an African-American Muslim family.

Her father was formerly known as Clearance Fowler, and he was convicted of murder in the 1970s. He later established himself as the Philadelphia Masjid leader and became an influential Muslim cleric in West Philadelphia.



Lakisha attended a local high school in Philadelphia, and she had been a fan of boxing since her childhood.

Considering that Don King was her father’s friend, Lakisha had the opportunity to watch boxing events live, which was how she met her current husband, Mike Tyson.

At the age of 18, Lakisha attended one of Mike Tyson’s fights and was introduced to the boxer.

Rise to Stardom

Lakisha soon began to grace the pages of tabloid due to her relationship with boxer Mike Tyson. By the time she was 23, they had started dating casually.

Mike often met her at clubs in New York in other girls’ company but left with her at night.

Lakisha Spicer Controversies and Scandals
In September 2004, Shamsuddin Ali and Faridah Ali, Lakisha’s parents, and others were arrested and charged to court.

They were charged with various count offenses, including conducting and participating in a racketeering enterprise to obtain money and property through schemes, extortion, and bribery.



Following the trial, Lakisha was on house arrest and four years probation.
