The University of Benin has matriculated 12, 241 newly admitted students out of the 50, 555 candidates who sought admission into the institution for the current academic session.

Vice Chancellor of the institution, Professor Lilian Salami, announced this during the matriculation ceremony held virtually due to COVID-19 restrictions.

However, two selected students each from the Faculties were physically present at the Akin Deko Main Auditorium, venue of the matriculation, with strict adherence to existing COVID-19 protocols.
Professor Salami congratulated the new intakes for being among the few lucky ones who were offered admission, urging them to be law-abiding students of the University.

She expressed optimism that the students will imbibe the virtues of discipline and diligence that will distinguish them as worthy undergraduates of UNIBEST. She warned that the institution will not condone any form of nefarious activities.

Professor Salami urged the new students to obey the University's rules and regulations in and out of campus.

She advised the matriculated students to desist from any act capable of tarnishing the image of either their parents, the University and even Nigeria at large.

The Vice Chancellor reminded the new students that they were in school to study and must take their education seriously.

CAMPUS GIST reports that some of the matriculating students appreciated the opportunity to study in the institution, promising to be law abiding.

This school matter for Nigeria no add up at all. Imagine a school couldn't admit half of the total number who sort admission there. And even the 12k so admitted will be scrambling for space and other facilities.

God help us.

What a country! And govt is fronting with that their NPower and TradeMoni scheme. Nigeria will be like Osun state when Buhari is done. The next presidio will just be paying loans, signing salary slips, and repainting projects.

That vc Na very wicked woman her administration has been from one hostile policy to another she order the demolition of illegal structures increase school fees and levy and fire some workers and now she is saying that she is going to close portal by September 3 so if you as a new students or old student refuses to pay your school fees and acceptance fee before that day you we forfeit your admission can imagine a policy coming from a mother ......does the students admission even matters to her again , for two years now no matriculation in the school but she has be collecting 6500 for gown can imagine the corruption in her reign this are some of the reasons I don't believe in women leadership

uniben that school disappointed me bk then,scored cut off bt wasn't offered admission, congrats to the matriculants, unlike UI we dey admit 4k,12k too much ahhhhhah
