Prices only respond to the principle of 'demand and supply' and not to language of force.

Most nigerian marketers like profiteering, those prices may not be justifyable. Gues he's using the language they'll understand.

end up addressing the root of the problem ? GEJ should have consulted with his economic advisers
first to have a background knowledge of the factors driving the high cost of kerosene.  

A leader makes an order while the problem remains and/or leads to other problems
at the end of the day. How does this translate to being savvy and competent ?

I love this strategy. Using force to reduce prices of commodity, cement, kerosene, , What else? Gsm tariffs? Whao, its all in the good of Nigerians afterall.

The minister blamed the scarcity and high cost of the commodity on marketers, who are profiteering from the situation at the expense of the people, but added government will not fold its arms while innocent Nigerians suffered unduly.

“Our investigation shows that kerosene has however become scarce and selling at high price due to distribution problems caused by middlemen who have made it their vocation to profiteer from the product.”

And what is GEJ's government solution?

As a way out, the Minister charged the Managements of the NNPC and the DPR to bring to an end the ugly situation within the next few days.

The president or minister is not responsible for doing the dirty job. It is the responsiblity of NNPC, DPR and the likes to find a solution.

For example, the CEO of a company doesnt go around marketing his products and chasing after customers. He only sets high level targets and provides the resources needed. It is the marketers that develop the marketing strategy and provide detailed plans on how to meet the target.

GEJ and Deziani have done their jobs. Let DPR and NNPC do theirs. Would you prefer the market to remain the same way it is without control?
