If you can pretend and have 4 hours to wait ......... Head to your nearest A&E department. .............. Make sure you do Nollywood o .......

A patient in pain does not relax, drinking tea, watching Netflix & eating sandwich ............ wink grin

I don't really like this. People come here for advice and may not get sarcasm. Please do not lie to your doctors. Get some cocodamol over the counter. Even better, if you have no contraindications,is some ibuprofen for just 5 days please.

If it gets much worse, call 999 for an ambulance or if you can , and only if you can, drive to an A&E.

Unfortunately, A and E waits ,investigation sand treatments can vary from 5 hours to 24 hours especially if you need specialist referrals
Sorry about your troubles. Hope you get better soon.

Here's a tip: there is usually a lull by 4am. That would be a good time to turn up at the A&E.

Rather than unnecessarily kicking a bucket, if you love your life ....... RUN TO A&É ......

If you're suffering from sepsis, every seconds counts. .....

Whilst chewing unnecessary painkillers, one would just die like an Agric chicken. ....

If your life means anything to you, seek further help when required (General practitioners are all so lazy, favouring telephone/video consultations). . ..

My response was straight to the point, without any drop of sarcasm............. wink

Another thing to watch out for is not staying more than 3 months outside the UK in a year. I think they perform that check when you want to apply for ILR.

Nothing stops you from working as a self-employee even if you have been signed off for 2 weeks on paternity leave as per your main job.

Thank you sir

Indeed, if you lie long enough and hard enough, you will indeed get some treatment. However, as no medical intervention is 100% safe, you will have exposed yourself to some nasties for nothing.

ITS ALWAYS A BAD IDEA TO LIE ABOUT YOUR HEALTH.

By all means , use the urgent care. You will be seen and be sent right back to your GP if not deemed hospital worthy.

I will not get into the "laziness" of GPs. The Daily Smell and its readers have written enough about it, I reckon.

Don’t worry. If you like, call the newspapers all the derogatory names in this world. Experience has taught us a lot.

A GP practice will tell you to only call at 8:00 am. There will be thousands calling at the same time. You don’t get through. You complain about problem with your skin, the GP practice insists on a phone/video appointment call. Me that is using a Nokia Torchlight. Me that is black skinned. How can video call help GP to examine me.

Madam… we have heard you.

We (at least myself) don’t need the newspapers to tell me that GPs are LAZY. They use the excuse of CoViD to hide behind phone and video appointments.

Between Lexus430’s advice (born out of experience) and your own. I know which one to follow, which one yields results.

well captured. If you complain on two or three issues, they will tell you that they only have 10min for you and that they will only attend to one. Very nasty experience with this UK GPs. Abeg Naija medical system seems to be better than this. Save for the fake drugs

If you're working, see if your company offers private health insurance, and where this is the case, avail of it in the event of another episode.
It's going to take a few years to sort out the NHS.

Or move to Scotland, the system's not as broken there, I gather.

Scotland is not as rosy as being painted. They have the worst ambulance services in Scotland. Their tax no be here. Even during the heat of Covid, if you need to call phone numbers for sampling, it was free in England and Wales, but you pay in Scotland. Scotland will claim "we get our prescriptions for free while england pay 9 pounds" well that is true. what they will not tell you is that they pay more tax in scotland.

I still need help with this, if anyone has experience

BorisJohnson:
Hello Nairalanders,
My dependant's visa application was submitted the first week of February. Didn't hear any more thing from UKVI.
I called last week and was told the decision was made on ~February 14th. I asked them to escalate.

Out of curiosity, I went to the post office today, and speculatively presented page 1 of the application form. The woman came back with a BRP in a brown envelope. She asked for the Passport and vignette, I could not present it. She said the BRP was received by them since February 20th.

I called UKVI again. The lady rudely told me that my issue was escalated, and I should wait for another 15 working days.

Does anyone have an idea where my dependant's passport maybe? UKVI? Home Office? TelePerformace? IS there any number or contact that folks have used previously, please? Help me biko.

Nothing is free, and yes we know all that about the tax brackets in Scotland.
And the statement about calling numbers re Covid, I dont think that's the correct position, I visit Scotland (Edinburgh) regularly for work and I simply don't believe Nicola will allow anything that is "free" in England and Wales to be "paid" in Scotland, especially Covid-related, she's that obsessed with drawing the distinction. Check your phone plan.

But you get "free" prescriptions, "free" 30 hours funded places for nursery school for all, "free" bus travel for young people and the elderly, etc.
Someone has to pay somewhere.
Never lose sight of that fundamental fact.

Hello everyone, can student dependant travel in and out of UK anytime without restrictions.

The dependant sure ...yes offcourse... as long as it not the student applicant .

But to get ILR they count your days and it has to be 5 years. Children are not subjected to absence so even if they are not here, they get their ILR when the main applicant does .

i like how you put free in quotation mark. All these "freebies" are seen a s vote buying with conservatives in Scotland. She recently gave £100 to "help" lower income households in Glasgow. Local elections are coming up.

They have made a decision. TLS haven't sent an email. Its way way past the expected date. I went to a UK post office (where they would normally have sent the BRP). The BRP has been sent. It means the visa has been granted. BUT the passport has not been returned. no email from tls.

See?

Scotland is not as rosy as many have been made to believe. Aunty Nicola is too obsessed with secession. And it amazes me that a lot os Scots don't think deeper about the nonsense that the SNP keeps dishing out about independence.
