Simi is undoubtedly one of the biggest female musicians in Nigeria and can also be said to be one of the most talented. She has been in the industry for a while now and has solidified herself as one to reckon with.

You might have some questions regarding her wealth and source of income like How much is Simi Worth? what is Simi's Net Worth? Is Simi one of the richest Nigerian female musician? and other questions. I have created this post to carefully answer some of these question.

Simi Biography and Age

Born Simisola Bolatito Kosoko, she is a Nigerian singer, songwriter and actress who was born on 19th of April 1988 (which makes her 33 years old as of the time of writing this post).

She started her career as a gospel singer and released her first studio album "Ogaju" back in 2008. Since then, she kept struggling in the music scene until 2014 when she score her first major hit "Tiff" which shot her to the limelight and went on to be nominated at the 2015 Headies for the "Best Alternative Song."

Simi's Educational Background

Simi attended secondary school in Lagos, at the Stars International College, Ikorodu and then went on to attend Covenant University where she studied Mass Communication.

Simi's Career

According to her, she started music at a very young age and she was led to write very first song when she was 10 years old. He professional career then kicked off in 2008 when she released her first studio project "Ogaju" which contained some singles like "Iya Temi," "Ara Ile."

Simi went on to release two massive singles in 2014 "Tiff," and "E No Go Funny" and both songs went on to do good numbers, getting lots of airplays and also got lots of positive reviews because as of that time, she was practically the only female with that style of song in the industry.

Also, she went on to release another hit song "Jamb Question" which added lots of accolades to her career and then went on to do a remix with Nigerian story-telling rapper Falz.

Simi went on to win the award for the Most Promising Act To Watch at the 2015 Nigeria Entertainment Awards (NEA). She was also listed by Notjustok in 2016 as one of the artistes to watch out for.

She spent 5 years under the record label X3M where she released two projects Simisola (2017), Omo Charlie Champagne Vol.1 (2019) and lots of singles.

Parting with X3M Records

After her contract expired with the label in 2019, the record label announced the release of the artiste. It was announced by the office of the A&R that the split was amicable and the both parties have agreed not to renew the contract.

Her album was seriously promoted in 2017 and it led her to win the award for Album of the Year in the 2018 Headies.

The second album Omo Charlie Champagne Vol.1 released under the label contained 13 tracks where she worked with the likes of Patoranking, Maleek Berry, Falz, and also her husband Adekunle Gold.

Record Label

After parting ways with X3M in 2019, Simi went on to create her own record label called Studio Brat and then she released her hit single "Duduke" in 2020 under the imprint. She also shot a video where she showcased her baby bump (she was pregnant at the time).

The video for the song currently have over 44 million views on youtube. In October 2020, she went on to release her first project "Restless II" under her new imprint and also in partnership with Apple owned UK music distribution company Platoon.
