On this day, a year ago, August 28, 2020, the world lost an icon, a great man, a king, and most importantly, a legend - Chadwick Boseman. cry
This man was[is] a man of honor, a brave man who made portraying Black icons and legends his priority, to give the Black community relevance in the world.
Chadwick Boseman went on to take on the mantle of the MARVEL comics King of Wakanda, T'challa - The Black Panther. This was a role he sacrificed a lot to portray. While battling with colon cancer, unbeknownst to the world, he traveled to several African countries to learn about his African ancestry in order to bring originality and reality into the comic book character while portraying him on the big screen. He brought the character to life with all passion, debuting in Captain America: Civil War (2016), he reprised his role as the Wakandan king in his own movie Black Panther (2018), Avengers: Infinity War (2018) and his last physical appearance as Black Panther was in Avengers: Endgame (2019).
His last project was his portrayal of T'challa in the MARVEL STUDIOS animated series WHAT IF...? (FACT: He was the first MARVEL STUDIOS star to sign the WHAT IF...? Project?) Hearing his voice again gave me the goosebumps! I felt happy, I felt he'd risen from the dead! Chadwick Boseman is a legend!
He was a real life King! You will forever remain in our hearts Chadwick "T'challa" Boseman (Black Panther). Rest in Power. #WakandaForever!
