Nigeria cannot progress like China or any other developed country if we don't break up and restructure on the basis of language and religion first before other considerations.

Unlike Nigeria with backward thinking, China is bent on improving the welfare of its citizens.

This is commendable. At least the young dudes can breathe in some fresh air.

You are wrong.

This would even improve their level of literacy.

Too much focus on examination as assessment especially for minors has done more harm than good.

Yes, it is so harmful that it led to Chinese economic rise.
Academic laxity is highly correlated with poverty and underdevelopment.

BTW, literacy is a commodity in the modern world.
The real advantage is drive and competition.

You may think we have personal issues with Buhari, not true.

Infact, many of us supported and campaigned for him prior to the 2015 elections so we really believed in him hoping he will turn things for good in the country.

Unfortunately, things have become worse than ever before but till date, the few positives in his government (very few indeed) have been applauded. NNPC profits (although there are no audited financials to back it up), National identification, reduced bomb blasts (howbeit with more killings), minimum wage increment (sadly the inflation rate has wiped this effect completely out). Not sure if I have really missed out anything after those.

China's economic rise has nothing to do with their examination based assessment for kids.

Nigeria also assess 3 year olds with vigorous examinations, why then are we one of the poorest in the world?

This new policy is not "academic laxity". It might interest that traveling and partying are parts of education.

You might need to unlearn and relearn the meaning of education and literacy.

Makes a whole lot of sense.

I have always said that making students write common entrance exam after primary 6 and junior WAEC i3 years later in Nigeria is absolutely dumb and unecessary.

It just puts extra burden on kids and their parent.

Let student promote normally with their semester exams and then they can be bothered with 1 single exam when they graduate secondary school. Which could be either WAEC or Jamb.

Not student writing WAEC, Jamb and then write another post jamb exam.

It's ridiculous.
