You are very correct. This has been my call for many years because I'm good at projecting into the future. The core north will never recover from the self made damage they did to themselves and it is others that will suffer it. There's extreme poverty in the far north caused by illiteracy and religion. Bad leadership and harsh climatic conditions has made it worse.
