*Al-Waqf Islamic Cemetery Foundation: Answering the Question 'Why?'*


Cemeteries are integral part of a Muslim community, the need to have one and efforts to make it a reality are blessed and rewardable.

In an attempt to ensure we have a beffiting maqbara *for the city of Ibadan* , Sheikh Sulaimān Amubieya, may *Allaah* preserve him upon goodness, convened a meeting of known Islamic teachers in Ibadan, some of *which* are Ustaz Ya'qūb Agbarikewu, Ustaz Muhyideen Salahuddeen (as-Sūdāniy), Ustaz Abbās Murtadah, Ustaz Rasheed AbdurRaūf, Imam Sulaiman Hamzah, Ustaz Al-Adaby, among others.


Before this attempt, the major maqbara that is usually available is the one belonging to our Muslim brothers from the North at Akinyẹle local government. May Allah reward these brothers abundantly for their tolerance over the years.


The need to have our own burial site is increasing at greater rates. The increasing population of first, second and future generation Muslims requiring burial; the demand is significant for burial space for our community.

For the purchase of the land and making other appropriate facilities in place the total cost is approximately N50,000,000 (Fifty Million Naira).
