Facts:
The eatery did not have a guard on duty that day. The pharmary beside the eatery had a guard. From the CCTV replay, the first criminal signalled the pharmacy guard “calm down”, before they entered the resturant.

My sister did not write her PIN anywhere or on any things or revealed it to anyone. Her phone had a face-recognition lock, a finger print lock, a code lock. How they managed to access her phone is still a mystery.

GTB salary loan hmmm, that one weak me sef. I don't understand but my cousin told her that it takes less than 5mins to be granted.

The theives cashed the monies at POS points in Orile, Apapa locations etc.

In fact, there are things that are still mystery to us.

From facts stated, I am 101% sure her sim card was not pin protected.

Case closed.

Very unfortunate.

But may I ask if she truly called MTN customer care. I know that in such unfortunate circumstances the customer is asked to answer two questions just to prove that he/she is the owner of the said line. Once the questions are answered, the line in blocked instantly. That must happen while the customer care agents are on duty. I doubt it that a customer care agent would say the supervisor is not on duty. A lot of customer care agents even work from their homes.

In all, everyone should have SIM pin aside from phone lock for safety reasons.

As for the police, I seriously doubt if they can do anything about the situation. First they will reap you off by asking you to bring money for a entry and police report. Next they will ask you to bring 40k for tracking “a small phone” and 60K for tracking “ a big phone”. With no such money victims leave dejected.

I so much agree with this. This sounds very suspicious.
My landlord's phone and info was stolen the man almost ran mad, I told him to call customer care immediately and it was on a Sunday. We called and they blocked the card and account and MTN later blocked the sim.

The criminal only succeeded in borrowing airtime worth ₦3000, they couldn't use.

The story no pure.
How did the criminals get the ussd password and all that. Immediately.

What she is saying is truth, many years back in pencinima in lagos, arm robbers came to rob the super market next door to the cyber cafe i was in, we were all shocked when one of the arm robber entered the cyber cafe with gun and told us to calm down that they did not come for us that we should not be scared and we should continue with our hustle

That was possible because her sim card is not pin protected or they were lucky and guessed it after two trials. It is not the phone that is needed for transaction but the your BVN registered sim.

Ogbeni, stay where you are o.

People are selling their HOUSES here at giveaway prices to go back to Lagos.

Housing is cheaper here but there's no hustle to get the money.

I know one guy who was living in Magodo and paying N250k for his kid's school fees. Then his wife said they should move to their house here and even though the school fees is now N70k he can no longer afford to pay.

Let's not even talk about bad roads.

Ogun state is full of suffering. No reason am.

The owu wey dey blow me like this would not be this bad if I was in Lagos. At least in Lagos your guy can still roger you N500 or 1k but here for where?!

And as a hustler no one can afford to buy anything. Dem no get money.

And yes I love the fast life although I know how to stay serene.

Lol. Na wa for you

I've been doing online business since 2010 and I am a digital marketer and many people here know when my website was still popping.

But trust me when I say this environment is dead.

If you are making good money try and get a house in a nice estate that is quiet. It is better than staying here I swear.

One thing I've learnt is that it is better you live with people who are richer than you. If you live here with an online income people will only envy you and leech on you. There is nothing to be gained.

The mentality you have is what I had that made me move here. Trust me as someone who has gone down that road and is regretting the decision. Don't try it.

But if you still want to there are many available apartments for rent grin

grin lol i hear ya bro. i think i will take your advice. i like the part where you said its better to live around people richer than you. its true. it also motivates you and makes you feel secure that they dont want anything from you. nice one Hahn. a guy on nairaland also made the move you made and regretted it. i forget his name but he moved from abuja to ijebu ode or somewhere and regretted it. said everybody around him was poor and anytime he comes in the neighborhood with a bag full of shopping everybody will be hailing him so they can get some food. long story short the guy said the environment was affecting his mental health so he ran out of there and moved to lekki. the story was on frontpage and his eventual move story to lekki too was on frontpage. I guess if 2 people are saying the same thing its wise to take heed

You don’t need to buy it , look for your sim application app on your phone or go to security settings. It is a free feature

Very few people are querying the story which is superfluous no matter how anyone tries to rationalise it.
This is a made up tale.
I continue saying it:I lost my phone with d SIM.Nothing happened to the account for 3days that I then blocked it because was trying to get details of some of the questions I knew CC would ask before it's blocked. The previous time also lost my ATM on a Friday and till Monday when I blocked it my account was very intact.
Using someone's ATM card or phone to access the person's account and take out money is very difficult UNLESS your bank pin is compromised.
