Without much beating about the bush, i write to challenge the many attempts that have been made to make the islam inclined terrorists in the north look noble and therefore like the militants in Niger Delta that were granted amnesty.

1.) The ND militancy was a reaction to situation and not a provocative action. The lands of the ND had been made useless by exploitative activities of the FG unlike in the north where they have even more land that is undisturbed.

2.) They ND militants were largely accepted in their communities they claimed they were fighting for unlike BH that are loathed and have been reported to being rejected at attempts to reintegrate them into their old communities. I must mention that only the northern leaders feel the terrorists should be integrated back so far.

3.) Another key difference is that ND didn't kill their own people like the terrorist are doing.

4.) The ND boys had clear and sensible motives for their actions. The northern terrorists not only have ideological factions but have ambiguous demands and motives so far.

5.) The ND boys made economic, security and environmental based demands unlike the
religious demands of the northern boys. I must say at this point that religion is largely a personal conviction that has no place in economic, environmental or security negotiations.

6.) The ND situation was borne out of economic and environmental sabotage but there is no such problem in the north. they have their lands, have a parallel judiciary system(sharia) protecting it as well as a notable absence of environmental degradation.

The ND militancy featured muslims and Christians as well as traditional worshippers unlike the northern one.
