even if they do, they will need state houses from the south to also approve it.

Economic restructuring by force. It is happening. Next is political restructuring. The centre must be weak to have a true federation.

They should better their northern lazy counterparts to work hard and start using their brain
They don't want alcohol or betting in their states but they want to collect the income other states derive from theirs

These Northerners are illiterates and backwards. The only reason why they have rich people over there is because of their control over the national Treasury and FG

I READ SOMEWHERE, THAT A NORTHERN STATE GOVERNMENT OF NIGERIA ORDERED THE DESTRUCTION OF 200M BOTTLES OF BEER WITH THEIR LIQUID CONTENT ON ACCOUNT OF RELIGION !

But this particular state shares from the monthly proceeds of VAT ( value added tax ) accruable to the Federation Account.

It is ungodly to ban the sales of alcohol in your state and still go ahead to collect/receive vat on the sales of alcoholic drinks from other states.

This sharing formula is unfair.

Ndi oshi. Check the Constitution well, you will discover that we don't even need any new Constitution. You will be shocked to discover that the states have all Constitutional backup for resource control and restructuring many are championing without them even knowing that these laws are there

Once this VAT is finally laid to rest in favour of the state,a new Nigeria is born. No more banditry,no more terrorism because he who plays the pipe ,dictates the tune.

This will break the power of the FG over states

Useless leeches

Abokis are suddenly on red alert! Leeches!

Let every state manage his own resources! You cannot be given food on your table yet your people (herders) are on a killing spree!

Let every state mange his resources and policing structure and see if the north will not have sense!

Lol, they are free to go ahead if they can. If they should, then I will know that the southern governors are truly useless with the respective state houses also incapable.
This is a constitutional review, so it's beyond a case of simple majority, so let see how the fg and the north will go about it.

This Mallam, they can die because of Nigeria money. If Babatunde Fowler is still at FIRS, he can never do this. He can never be threatened because of VAT. This Mallam is just fighting for the continual exploitation of the South.

Mallam, Aboki, please, let States collect their VAT.

It was Obasanjo's Presidency that allowed States in the South to win Derivation and Onshore / Offshore dichotomy abolition battles.

Under this Aboki, the Southern Nigeria should be prepared to defend themselves. However, the Senators love dinners at Villa. The governors should be determined to fight it out.

It's getting to the climax. Now we'll know how much the south will be sold to the Fulani through federal lawmakers from our part of this land.

They want to make the tether (or bondage, if you like) more unitary.

An ex governor from the SE voted NO to electronic transmission of election results citing that his constituency lacks power and network coverage. This is the same place he built his country home. So he went on national TV and Assembly to disgrace himself.

What do you think such L unatic will vote on when the time comes?

The Revolt will be massive if this request is granted.

Wike and his likes will sponsor a very strong opposition should FG attempt to give-in to this desperate move to continue robbing Peter to pay Paul.

The North really has no shame!

Lol

Firs will soon become useless.

The implications of the River state law is that if the law is allowed to passed .Lot of staffs in firs will be jobless because lot of states will copy the river state law, also the commission will only have jurisdiction in the FCT which is bad for revenue generation.

That's not correct.
There are other taxes and levies accrued to the federation.

This is just VAT and Income tax.
So many other taxables still goes to the federal revenue service

This is going to bring blood to Nigeria. The Fulani positioned themselves in all the Northern states and are now using that scuttle every good thing sought by other Nigerians. Nigeria has many hurdles to overcome in her journey to nationhood.

Arrant waste of time and gross abuse of Court process. It is grossly disrespectful to Court to have written to NASS on a matter already before the Court. Nigeria purports to be a Federation and should be run as a Federation.

The cheating is too much.

I observed something about the Internally Generated Revenue compared to Federal Allocation report, but I kept quiet, because it is political.

They should allow States to collect their VAT. That is how it is done in the US and other places. When the VAT is collected by States, their secret would be exposed.
