Education they say is the bedrock of any developed or developing society, for a nation to be accorded the status of developing it is suppose to be seen in the amount of investment such nation put in educating its people.
The world most especially Africa is becoming a good ground for both legal and illegal arms and ammunition and this have not proven in any ways to solve our growing problems.
Government continue to equip its military in the name of securing life and property while ignoring the best form of security which cannot be guaranteed by weapons or high grade ammunition but by making sure that resources are channel into developing the soul and mind of the people which will in turn birth citizen with right consciousness for the greater good of the Country at large.
I am not in any way opposing spending on defense, but everything we do should add value; value to life, value for existence, and value for prosperity. How long can we continue to defend the life of people who don’t have or have been deprived the true essence or value for life?
We continue to equip our military to fight internal aggression, which alone is a testament that something is wrong somewhere or we are just fixated on deploying wrong approach to solving problems. How can an organization whose primary responsibly is to protect the country from external aggression be the one saddled with responsibility of maintaining internal security?
Our problems are within and must be solved by looking critically at those things that can further improve national cohesion rather than employing kinetic approach in resolving national security issues at all times.
There’s no point suggesting ways to solve the insecurity issue plague most Africa nations, but we can only advice our leaders to priortise human development and this can be achieve by providing an all inclusive, quality and qualitative education. This can be achieved by putting in place a national policy backed by law and provided with adequate funding.
Government cannot continue to correct a derailed mind by just deploying one method; rather, we can have an egalitarian society when Education becomes not just a right but a way of life.
