Na lie. Depend on were you de for lag.

I de stay mile 12. Food cheap like village.

Imagine... Is Mile 12 not a depot where trailers offload food first before it gets distributed to other markets and retailers? Why won't food be cheap there?

For your info, I don't stay in mile 12.. come to Akoka area, you'll know what's up.
Unilag students forming big boys and girls have made everything so expensive in this area.

This has alway been the crux of my argument on Dollar/Naira exchange rate.
There is no way you can get such at $2.00 in the US. Those stuffs you see there can not be less $10.00 which is like N5,200.00 in Nigeria at an exchange rate of N520/$1.00
Value of currency is supposed to measure in term of the basket of goods it can purchase.

Nice Analysis. Make i do mine too

The Nigerian Man buys this at approximate $2
You said it will cost $10 in US. Lets make it $20

The nigerian minimum wage is N30,000( $60 per month)
Federal minimum wage in USA is $7.5/hr($1200 per month). Note this is the smallest in US. Several states have as high as $11-14

Nigerian man spends 3.33% of his income on this(2/60)

American spends 1.67% of his own income (20/1200)

Note that i was quite conservative with the American minimum wage and doubled your expected american cost of the veggies.

The Nigerian man is still worse off.

Can Nigeria afford a good minimum wage. Be like say you never check the financial health of your Nation cheesy
Your leaders should check and be mindful of the health of your Nation. I actually don’t live there like you.

Thank God you said “supposed”

In reality, it is measured in trade power on the global scale, standard of living in the said country, salary/ wages, economic viability.

You want to sell plantain 5,000 in a country where minimum wage is 18,000 p/m
Thanks for replying that irredeemable creature.
