The Nigerian Indigenous Nationalities Alliance for Self-Determination has faulted the Nigerian government for linking its ongoing Million-Man Freedom March at the United Nations Headquarters, New York, the United States of America with the Indigenous People of Biafra.

The PUNCH had reported that Biafra and Yoruba Nation agitators started a march at the UN headquarters in New York on September 14.

The march coincides with the ongoing UN Assembly, where Nigeria’s president, Major General Muhammadu Buhari (retd.), and other World leaders are expected to attend and give addresses.

“Rattled” by the continuous protest by the agitators, the Presidency threatened to deal with Yoruba Nation agitators based on their alliance and association with IPOB, an organisation tagged designated as a “terror group”.

Reacting, Akintoye in a statement by his Communications Manager, Mr. Maxwell Adeleye, alleged that the “Nigerian Government planted IPOB banner in the March venue with the hope of using it to discredit the agitation for Self-Determination before World leaders”.
He described the statement credited to the Nigerian Presidency as an “unintelligent attempt” to paint the peaceful demonstration black because it has succeeded in exposing to the world, the alegged genocide and fraud being perpetrated in Nigeria.

Akintoye asked the Nigerian Government to address all issues raised by the protesters, rather than resorting to blackmail and peddling of fallacies.

He said, “Rather than listen to the yearnings and aspirations of our people, the Buhari-led government has consistently waged war against people who attempt to checkmate the menace of Miyyetii Allah in the name of grazing of Cows.

“Now, the Government is attempting, unintelligently, to criminalise peaceful organisations like NINAS, Ilana Omo Oodua, Lower Niger Congress, and Middle-Belt Rennaissance Movement for embarking on a peaceful March outside the shores of Nigeria where the guns and ammunitions of the Presidency cannot touch them.

“For the record, we wish to state very expressly, and with all due respect to whatever they represent, that NINAS and its affiliate organisations – Ilana Omo Oodua (IOO), Lower Niger Congress (LNC) and Middle-Belt Rennaissance Movement (MBRM) have nothing whatsoever to do with IPOB.

“We also want to put it on record that IPOB is not in any way involved in the ongoing March in New York. The IPOB banner you saw was obviously planted by agents of the Nigerian government masquerading as members of NINAS for photoshoots which we have since unraveled and checkmated.

“We say to the Presidency that the unintelligent attempt to cause frictions and divisions between the Yoruba people in the West and the Igbo people in the East is dead on arrival. We shall continue to collaborate, peacefully, for the salvation of our people.

“Instead of planting IPOB banners in our March venue with the hope of using it to paint our struggle black before the world leaders on 24th September that he wants to address UNGA, we advise President Muhammad Buhari to stop mortgaging our future through borrowing of endless loans.

“We shall resume the March on 24th September, Opposite the United Nations Headquarters to tell President Muhammad Buhari to his face that his Miyyetii Allah people are the enemy number one of the people of South and Middle-Belt of Nigeria, and they are the authentic Terrorists.”

Differentiate IPOB from Biafra. IPOB is an Organisation Biafra is a Nation
All IPOB members are Biafrans but not all Biafrans are IPOB.

What I saw was a Biafran Flag, not an IPOB flag. IPOB population is not up to 10 percent of Biafra
The media keep spreading lies

It's good that Akintoye came out to quickly clear the air on this. Akintoye's movement has nothing to do with the violent IPOB terrorist group that is currently causing havoc and fueling insecurity in the SE. There are other non-violent/non-terrorist Igbo self-determination groups that Ilana Omo Oodua can collaborate with but certainly not the terrorist IPOB. No room for egbekegbe. *Drops mic*.

Anything to bring about a referendum, so we can all go out separate ways is okay by me.

After that, NINyASh can now explain what the IPOB stereotyping is about.

Nigeria is a country where a lot of people profiting from a problem complain the most about the problem and do not usually want the problem solved

Baba Akintoye, this is a waste of time, trying to differentiate IPOB from Biafra.

Whatever you do, the Nigerian government also views we Yoruba nation agitators as terrorists. They almost tried to proscribe us last month. I know this is what you're trying to avoid but they still eventually will. Also remember they tried to proscribe Afenifere.

We know what you're trying to do: try to involve the Igbos into the NINAS struggle without them branding themselves as IPOB.

They can't denounce themselves baba, believe me. Once the Igbos are convinced about something, you can't stop them again... not to talk of a name they adopt.

MR AKINTOYE, IF YOU KNOW YOU CAN'T WORK WITH IPOB, THEN LET'S RUN YORUBA NATION ALONE.

Enough of all this left-right talk that you'll be calling on Igbos and everyone to join march and when FG do small threat, you'll start changing mouth.

It is hurting the image of we Yorubas as double-edged people. You want them to add up the numbers but you don't want them to come with their IPOB name.

Mr Akintoye didnt start like this and I know its that Mr Nnadi and that Augusta girl wey get sharp mouth dey poison this man mind because anytime you watch NINAS shows on Youtube, it is these 2 that are always vehemently against IPOB, Biafra and Kanu.

IPOB, we are sorry. I know they are doing this because a condition of joining the UNPO is that one shouldnt carry weapons against the state, regardless if the reasons are understandable or not. NINAS doesnt want to be delisted from UNPO which is why they do this IPOB dissociation from time to time.

IPOB, we are sorry once again but I know they are all working underground. Because when Akintoye said this thing the first time earlier this year, MNK subsequent broadcasts did not condemn it (like one would expect). Someone also raised the question on Simon Ekpa's show again sometimes in March or so, Ekpa also did not condemn it and said the understanding is intact.

So they know more than we know guys. Let's chill and not hate ourselves pls. Thanks for understanding my gallant Igbos. Please.

Yorubas are doing their thing separately from you fools in Ipob. You kill security agents and burn down your land. Yorubas are more intelligent than that.
So, you fools should paddle your canoe let Yorubas paddle theirs.
