Fulani has been coming to Benue state and indeed Nigeria for hundreds of years. Clashes between farmers and settlers has probably been as long as that.

The biggest issue Benue has is bad leadership and it is timely that when salaries and pensions are due Ortom and his imbecilic followers start shouting Fulani. If he was doing his job as a leader- there will be limited clashes with any Fulani.

The excuse of using Fulani to refuse to pay salary and pensions is stupid and criminal. If he needed money to deal with Fulani he has a security vote that nobody including federal government questions him on.
